funny considering other spurfans said they were frustrated with RJ because he was brought in and expected to be a star
It was a tongue-in-cheek comment. That said, Kobe's eFG is .415 this year vs. Rondo at .425

Rondo has some leaks, but as the 4th best player on the team it's a major haul for the Mavs, losing the assets might sting given we lack young talent to begin with but oh well.
we stacked as . koolaidman.
Ghazi YES
its starting to feel like 2011 around here
last time Rondo was the #4 guy on a team with an aging legendary PF, a SF and SG that could score effectively, and a paint clogging center, good things happened for his squad. Hopefully that repeats itself lol.
gangbanger ain't a good shooter either but he works fine for your team (when his knees are healthy, of course).
OKC is making the playoffs...Suns are out for fifth year in a row.
That schtick is getting old.
Great trade for Mavs...makes things even more interesting in West.
it feels even greater than the 2010-2011 season imho. It was like, no mavs fan (Ghazi and Phillp being the only exceptions) expected us to win the championship that season and our chances looked even more diminished when Butler was badly injured and out for the season. But look what we have now, the league's assist leader and one of the best scorers on our backcourt, a legendary PF and a hardcore defensive big in the paint, plus our summer signing who's performing better and better as the season proceeds.
Couldn't shoot in 08 either, off
My only concern: Late in the game, when Monte has the ball and is running his pick and pop with Dirk, what is Rondo doing? His player will be sagging off and messing with our spacing. Our offense is free flowing and based on players reacting, not on one player controlling the ball and running set plays. Carisle is going to have to do a little redesigning to the leagues best offense. Rondo better be busting his ass on defense in the meantime.
Edit: But I still like this trade. We most likely weren't good enough for a le before, and you got to make a gamble.
And was surrounded by 3 all stars. And that team was very good defensively. Thus they didn't need to score a ton. The mavs do have to score a ton. But it's the loss of Wright that hurts the most.
is rondo/calderon possible with calderon playin catch and shoot
He had way less of a role then. The Celtics could have gotten more for Rondo, but I think it shows what the league thinks of him nowadays after the injuries. This isn't 2010 Rondo. Still a good pick up for the Mavs. Strong 5th seed potential.
Losing a guy who pretty much could only catch and finish alley-oops? He was a nice player, and I really enjoyed having him, but he always folded against good defensive teams because he had such a limited skillset. His defense was pathetic too.
He's still the 4th best player
Arguably 5th tbh with the emergence of The Metro imo
Well monta have it all already... I see them bickering about who handles the rock in the clutch
In the clutch, it will be hack a Rondo.
God I hope so
