It's easy to see why March Madness is the greatest sporting event in the world.
Greatest? Naw. Just sign of the Parody and early bolting for the Pros time. It's no surprise now when you get a low seed beating a higher seed. It used to be special. Now its just meh your brackets are ed.
It's mostly a byproduct of ty committees undervaluing good mid-major teams and over-valuing major conferences.
In what world is Georgetown a 4 but Wichita State a 7?
Too many games are impacted by this.
The entire Big12 and Big East were overvalued all year.
Parody has a lot to do with it, but it's magnified when better mid-majors are pushed into lesser seeds against lesser teams in overseered positions.
Last two years have really called attention to how crappy the committee has been in valuing teams and determining seeds.
Yeah, that's a valid point...but why does it matter? Ain't no one stopping Kentucky! I am trying to jinx them...I hate the state of USC basketball...

Utah is ranked top-10 effectively all year by every metric, but despite sitting at 8th in KenPom, Utah is seeded 5th in Duke's #1 region, when Duke is ranked 6th in KenPom.
Northern Iowa is seeded 5th and ranked 9th in KenPom
Wichita State is seeded 7th and ranked 11th in KenPom
Georgetown is seeded 4th and ranked 20th in KenPom
Maryland is seeded 4th and ranked 32nd in KenPom
Stephen F Austin is seeded 12th and ranked 34th in KenPom
It's like they don't even value advanced metrics.
