i was just messing with lefty. seems like the guy was depressed and did about the worst thing possible. hopefully the airlines learn from it.

There was complete silence from the pit during the descent. If it was deliberate and terrorism related I'm sure we would've heard a 'praise Allah' somewhere in there. The depression angle is kind of hard believe, I mean why not just put a bullet in your head?

Does the pit lock automatically or it has to be locked from inside? If it's the former, the pilot probably lost consciousness imo...maybe a drop in pressure in the pit or a heart attack/stroke.
