I like Carroll's energy but first priority is to lock up Bonner again.
Kawhi will get the max and hopefully, Danny agrees to a 36 in 4 contract...Belli, Baynes, Ayres, TD, Manu, Bonner are all UFA..Joseph is RFA but he's probably going to ask for a trade to improve his game.
Some Interesting UFA names and players with player options..
PG.
Gary Neal
Mo Williams
Rodney Stucky
CJ Watson
SG
Marcus Thornton
Wes Mathews ( can be had for cheap with his injuries)..obviously Danny is Priority though.
SF.
Demarre Carroll
PF/Center
Aldridge
Millsap
Bass
Amir johnson
Love
Monroe
Robin Lopez
Alexis Ajinca
I like Carroll's energy but first priority is to lock up Bonner again.
Kawhi Leonard
Jamaal Franklin
Malcolm Thomas
Non Spurs of course
Aldridge
Marc Gasol ( I know he is happy in Memphis )

Josh Smith
Gary Neal
Juwan Howard if he returns
Steve Nash (same)
Ayers
Nate Robinson...
All winners imo
bringing the wrong kind of nasty
Staying in the spirit of the OP
Ajinca and Watson.
Bring over Bertans. Secure carroll and Matthews, sell a dream to Aldridge and we'll be okay post Duncan.
Danny gonna get paid tbh. Probably gonna get that contract that Matthews was gonna get. 36mil/4years won't be enough to keep him.
Too much up in the air to speculate tbh. If Tim/Manu come back for cheap and we re-sign Wing Stop for less than 25m/per I'll be happy with anything.
Tim is coming back as is Manu. Probably Matt Bonner as well. This team will continue to stand pat until it's just tatters in the wind. The alternative is a South Texas version of the Bucks for the next however many years.
You guys will be sick of seeing Tim Duncan on the bench. Remember Kareem when he was in year 20? Old ass sitting on the bench, playing token minutes. Same with a few other legendary players who let it be known that money trumps legacy.
1- Aldridge
2- Marc Gasol
3- Kevin Love
They will match any offer on Kawhi and try to lock Danny. I think TD and Manu will go for one more year.
LMA would obviously be great. Kawhi/Aldridge/Splitter frontcourt would be unreal defensively and potent offensively as well. Marc Gasol/Millsap would be a great pickups as well. Obviously these would be in the case where Tim retires. Regardless, those 3 are pipedreams...
If we're talking about realistic targets...I would be thrilled with Amir Johnson. I think he'd be a nice fit next to Splitter, and I don't think a lot of people realize how good he is (think we could get him for a reasonable price).
I wonder if free agent prices will be higher this off season or if players will want shorter contracts. Basically I think only max players are going sign one year deals to get max money in 2016 after the cap bomb. How will the second teir react?
On the other hand though, how will teams spend their cap knowing that even if they exhaust cap space they get more soon and they know that contracts signed now will be valued priced soon. Last chance to lock in old rates.
Assuming Timmy and Manu retire after we win 6, my ideal replacements...
Timmy: Gasol/Aldridge
Manu: Afflalo
Bonner: Rashard Lewis
Ayers: Seraphin
Belli: give his back-up SF spot to KA
CoJo: Lin (want CoJo back but it's a better career move for him to leave, in hindsight trading him might've been a good move)
Bring back Kawhi, Danny and Baynes so...
Splitter
Gasol/Aldridge
Kawhi
Green
Rique
Bench: Afflalo, Diaw, Patty, KA, Baynes, Seraphin, Lin, Rashard Lewis
Fkla, you are way over budget. Unless you are just listing players to replace certain positions.
Idk, I just think the players are going to want $$$ no hometown discounts
Bring back: Leonard, Green, Baynes
Sign: Gasol/Millsap (Duncan replacement ), Carroll (replacing Beli), Matthews (Manu)
Huge pipe dream but I would be interested in those players.
Leonard/Green should be the #1 priority.
If Duncan and Manu decide to come back, that would be fine too. It would be better than missing out on other players completely.
LeBron James.
Aldridge, M Gasol, Monroe -we're going to need a top tier big.

I doubt Aldridge and Gasol leave their teams. Monroe, on the other hand specifically signed the Piston's qualifying offer so he can be a restricted FA this offseason. He is the most realistic possibility but I don't know if Pop will want him. Monroe's still developing his jumper and isn't that great on defense. He is only 24 though so there is still time to develop. But as good as he can get, he'll never anchor a team's defense like Duncan or Gasol.
Gasol is the best fit but he has ties to Memphis and the Grizzlies might be in a better position than the Spurs if Duncan and Ginobili retire next year.
Spurs still have to clear the hurdle that not many FA wants to play in San Antonio. Probably better to just tank and build through a lottery draft pick like they did with Leonard, Duncan, and Robinson.
Monroe's defensive woes could be somewhat hidden when paired next to Splitter, and he's young enough to where he could still very likely improve there...but I really don't think he's be worth the money he'll likely command.
As someone else said, keeping Kawhi and Danny should be the #1 priority. Having both of them along with Splitter basically ensures that we'll at least have a great D.
You're probably right. For some reason I had Manu taking $10 mill off the books even though he's on a $7 mill deal. Probably not enough to lure Afflalo, but I'd rather cheap out on the end of the bench guys to land him. He can eat up minutes at both the 2 and 3. As long as our top ten guys are; Splitter, Gasol/Aldridge, Kawhi, Green, Rique, Afflalo, Diaw, Patty, Baynes, KA we'd have a decent squad imo.
