OT: Tax Season - Who made over $200k last year?

The fact is after making a certain amount, around 80k or so your life doesn't improve that much dramatically.

Everyone has different situations, just because you make more than the average doesn't mean much tbh. I'm sure there are people making 200k a month browsing this forum and laughing at you like you think you are balling

Does your life improve that much between a 2500sqft house and a 5000sqft house? I know people making 200k living paycheck to paycheck because they inflated their lifestyle because they felt the need to show off with mountains in debt. A salary over 100k provides nice flexibility to not have debt, invest some and live comfortably. Many people go out and get in debt with a new Benz/bimmer so they can let people know they got a little money. They aren't buying it because they are so impressed with the enengineering of the car tbh

at the end of the day random people don't give a at how much you make unless you are after gold digging hoes.

I don't live the extravagant lifestyle. I drive a 2009 Toyota Corolla. I bought my 3rd house in DC for $300k. I'm not rich by any means, but I have investments with retirement in mind.

I'm a simple person. I don't need a big a flashy house or flashy car to be happy. I want to build a cabin that's 200 square feet and live in that, tbh.
