Cant wait to hear cubes on this one. I bet Ben & skin getting ready to interview him right now ... what's the over/under on shots cubes takes in this series on Morey and Dwight? and how much ing will he do about calls for Harden? How many fouls will be placed on Josh Smith and Dwight?

Mavs in 5, maybe 6. Carlisle will abuse McHale and Rondo will flip the switch. Then we get a whole summer of Rockets fans making excuses
Would love to see that but I doubt it. You right about RC ober Kevin though ...

I want to believe the Mavs will flip the switch, but I just see a team with no chemistry, no leadership, and not nearly enough consistency in any aspect of the game. Rockets in 5.
Agree with all of this and almost picked Rox in & (went with Mavs in 7) but I will be shocked if Mavs dont win at least 3 games. I picked mavs because in a 7th game I can see RC adjusting and Dirk catching fire. I like Dirk over Beard in a game that truly matters.

Just talked with some buddies in Plano about this one ...

Coaching: Edge Mavs. Huge. RC may have been a scrub when they were team-mates and McHale the HOF'er but on the sidelines, RC has one of the biggest advantages here. Even Pop vs. Doc is a better match-up.

Defense: Edge Rox. Mavs have been ty on defense at times. Adding Aminu, tyson and rondo all who were or are plus defenders haven't changed this much. Playoff Ariza, a rested Dwight, even shaky Josh Smith are all plus defenders compared to Mavs.

Offense: Edge Mavs: Rondo has screwed this up some and Harded is the best offensive player in the series but the Mavs have more options for getting good shots especially if Dirk get shot. when BOTH are on the Montae/Dirk pnr is filthy.

Bench: Edge Mavs. IF Parsons is healthy Mavs have plenty of experience in Harris, RJ and JJ in reserve. they lack size but have lots of wins if Parsons is healthy.

Starters: Edge Rox. With Mavs nicked up ...I think Dwight, Beard Ariza give them the edge.

Mavs in 7 if Parsons can get healthy and.Dirk and Montae have two big time games each I think they squeak one out.
Think Rox have a better bench. Brewer, Smith, Capela, Prigs. It's up to McHale to utilize it effectively.

Well I thought Smith started when Jones was hurt but if Jones is healthy that does help. But my point still stands the guys you mentioned outside of terry none have dona anything significant in the playoffs. JJB, Harris and RJ all have played on teams that have made deep playoff runs. But you may be right ...

Yeah. Smith did start but Jones is getting healthier and is starting again, leaving Smith on the bench. Rockets need to come out the gate hard game 1 and set the tone.

Should be a fun series. Rockets in 6. HCA will be the difference.
You should have predicted Rockets in 7, then. Game 6 is in Dallas.

This is probably the only coin flip series in round 1. All projections I've seen so far have Rockets favored 54-46 at most
You don't think Clippers-Spurs is a coin flip?

Not at first glance but after realizing the Spurs home/away discrepancy I can see why it's closer to a flip than one would expect

The Rockets have experience there too though. Terry, Harden, Ariza, and Howard have all been to the Finals. Smith helped lead Atlanta to some playoff runs. Brewer was had some decent moments in the Mavs run. I think that's good enough overall for the team.

lol after some thought, I kinda hope the Mavs go down in 5 with Monta/Rondo both having ty series, rather than go 7 games and lose with the two of them having extension worthy playoff performances.

    Trevor Ariza: Prepare for trouble.
    James Harden: Make that double.
Trevor Ariza: To overwhelm the league with a whole lot of threes.
James Harden: To get all the calls from the referees.
Trevor Ariza: To denounce the evil that is the mid range game.
James Harden: To flop my way into the Hall Of Fame.
    Trevor Ariza: Trevor.
    James Harden: James.
Trevor Ariza: The Houston Rockets blast off at the speed of light.
James Harden: Surrender now or prepare to fight.
    Dwight Howard: Dwight! That's right!
