is there anything more insecure in life than a boxing fan? I mean being a fan of a dieing corrupt sport is taxing but i don't see baseball fans pulling this .

So basically ,if i understand. People would pay to see this fight but between the hotel and the two fighters they can't agree to split their ticket allocations and this is holding up the issuance of tickets. Man talk about a ty sport. Can't even get the ticket allocations. Thank god UFC doesn't have this problem.

LEts frame it this way. UFC has 45 events, 15 ppv. Boxing has...? One mega event and a bunch of crumbs? Name me the PPV boxing events you plan to watch either $ or pirated. I don't care. Just tell me how many you watch.

This is what happens when you put an amateur promoter like TMT handling an event of this magnitude. I'm pretty sure they're simply trying to squeeze every penny they can from this fight, plus most of the tickets are reserved by and for the high rollers anyway, it's the minority of fans whose bank accounts are already bleeding from paying a 900% markup that will suffer the most

I don't get the big fuss.

This is sooo boxing and soo Vegas.
MGM has a lot of Pygmy Whales and other cetaceans to take care of.
The camps have a ton of people to take care of.

Some of these owed folks will end up selling their tickets. They will go on sale through a secondary market as stated.

Im sure a very few of the poor camp hangons and MGM customers (who spend way over their heads) are broke and will sell.

    The public is appalled?
I see it as expected. Self important folks want to say they were at an event that is popular with the public. The place is not an 85,000 seat football stadium.

I got in and you could not, I am important. Go figure.
Crisis... Sure. The only crisis is what customers the MGM and boxing camps offend.

What's another month or two? These issues have caused the fight to be delayed past both fighters' prime anyway.

Why is everybody overreacting here, it's not like anybody here is buying tickets. This is just taking care of those of importance before the plebs can buy tickets. This is the fight of the century so tickets aren't your usual first come first serve deal.

    ^^^^^^

    He's right you know.

Tickets will get sold, the fight will sell out.

    Dan Rafael chat wrap 4/17:

    Mayweather-Pacquiao:
    - They are requiring purchased tickets for the weigh in is so people do not camp out in front of the arena. Tickets are $10 and will have reserved seats. Proceeds will go to charity.
    - Still no real ticket information. It has been handled poorly. The fact that the ticket situation is still murky so close to the fight probably helps buyers. The brokers have less time to get rid of them and will be afraid of having left over inventory.
    - The ticket issue is likely due to the fact that the two promotional sides and the casino still haven't decided how to divide the tickets and what seat locations they get.
    - He believes it was negotiated, but someone does not want to live up to the agreement.
    - % chance the ticket fiasco delays or affects the fight? 1%.
    - Does not think Ellerbe is doing a bad job. He is in a tough situation and is very hard working.
    - HBO's Mayweather-Pacquiao special will be after Matthysse-Provodnikov.
    - Likely opponent for LSC is Alexis Santiago.
    - Does not believe the winner will retire.
    - Picking Mayweather to win, but gives Pacquiao a better chance to win than any of Mayweather's previous opponents.
    - Won't predict if a KD will happen, but if one happens the arena atmosphere will be insane.
    - Will break the PPV buy record with ease.
    - Does not think Floyd's comments about not loving boxing will affect his performance at all.
    - DLH will not be attending the fight. He spoke with him at length yesterday about his views on the fight, having fought both fighters. Story forthcoming.
    - Floyd continues to tell people he will fight again in September and then retire.

The MGM has promised their patrons more seats than they have. They already have set up a huge catered screen arena on site to take care of the small whales they will offend. Probably would be a better place to watch, you can stuff yourself with great food and move around and will be right by the actual fight.
