in before the "if we had Sessions instead of Porker" short bus
I agree, Porker sucked but this thread is about JR Smith and the possibility of having him over the old Argentine turd
I always said when JR Smith tries 100% he can reach Kobe levels.
He's got the talent, he just never had the determination. Maybe it was because he was in the ty nuggets and Knicks. I remember Spurs were thinking about obtaining him and I was behind that move 100%. Once again. I was correct 100%.
In the right situation JR Smith is a top flight player.
can you imagine if we had had him instead of Ginobili???

Smith is one of the streakiest mother ers in the league plus is kind of a hothead.
when Cleveland made that underrated move I knew it was game changing for Cavs tbh.
a Kobe light at bottom dollar next to Kyrie and his gang. (oh and shumpert included, a JR Smith lite to go with it smh)
He was traded for Brent Barry.
Dammit but it was late for a few mins after the deadline
seriously???
He's a rich man's Nick Young. He was taking some horrible shots and hit them anyway.
yeah. It happened in 2007 or 2008. I forgot
Streaky chucker with extreme lack of focus. I know Manu makes some boneheaded plays, but I'd much rather have him than Smith tbqh.
kind of like green minus the hothead
Yep, it was 2006. Here's the thread from SpursTalk:

it was very close
Streaky like Green, but a much more dynamic offensive player. Though Green is the better defender by far when locked in.
Eh, one can create and one cannot. One can defend at an elite level, one can not. Some differences
Not sure Pop would have had the patience for a J.R. Smith. Probably would have gone the way of SJax.
Can you imagine if we had Lebron James instead of Bonner? Can you imagine if we had JR Smith instead of Ginobili?
See, I can play that game, too.
manu was wild back in the day
2006. Deal was so close that the Spurs told Barry not to board the plane for a road game...then were like "whoops nevermind."
would've been a god like he is in Cleveland. All the clubs and hot groupies in NY messed him up, you don't have to worry about that here tbh.
Pop was okay with Neal, he would've been fine with J.R
Patty can be pretty wild as well, also look back at Gary Neal...
If only JR could drive the OP home, tbh...
There's a difference between wild and disrespecting what the team is trying to accomplish.
