Los Angeles Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak said star guard Kobe Bryant has told the GM that the 2015-16 season will be Bryant's last with the Lakers.

"He has indicated to me that this is it," Kupchak said Thursday in a radio appearance with SiriusXM NBA Radio.

Bryant is scheduled to make a league-high $25 million in his final contract season -- his 20th -- with the Lakers. But there's speculation that Bryant could play beyond next season, and Bryant said he hasn't ruled out that possibility.

"I think first and foremost, he's on the last year of a deal," Kupchak told SiriusXM NBA Radio. "There have been no discussions about anything going forward. I don't think there will be."

Wow. I watched him play for 19 years, 20 next year. I still can't believe that next year it will be over for Kobe.

With the end of the Kobe/Duncan era, the league will not be the same. It's cute that teams like the Warriors and Hawks are doing well but for the most part, the 00's/10s were ruled by both teams.

Kobe aint retiring...he just hasnt committed..he's trying to see how things play out...he knows he will have to take less but he's being strategic...if he's not injured and playing well...he'll go straight to Jeanie and make his pitch.....he's not retiring..mark my words

Not buying it tbh. If he comes back next year and plays even relatively well, he'll stick around for at least another year after that, tbh.

Please, like how the Seahawks have owned his lil Kittys 4 years running, he has yet to hurt my feelings. I like that, you feel the need to hide behind facades though. You keep doing you, NLS. One day, someone will love you for something else than your prowess in raising someone else's felines.

As much as everybody hates on him, it truly is a blessing to be able to watch one of the all time greats like that over such a stretch.

That's a big gesture in that part of the world and I'm sure Kareem liked them boots.

Isnt he already in about not wanting to play in Minny? Let him go to LA and see for himself why other big men hated thier time there.
