http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-sh...144516016.htmlNewton agreed to a five-year contract extension that was reportedly worth more than $100 million, according to reports including the Charlotte Observer. Newton was slated to make $14.67 million in the last year of his rookie deal this year. His contract now will run through 2020.
struggles price just went up. Note its price not worth
Great deal. Got to get the QB of the century tied down so he can continue to progress into an elite passer.
Don't know what this would be laughing at. Cam's deal is way better and will have more guaranteed. 9ers
You say this like it's a good thing
So you pay someone 100M at the QB position that is not already an elite passer? Isn't that what QB's do - pass?
You pay a QB for leading their team. Two players have more TD's than Cam at this point in his career.... Marino and Peyton.
I thought they were supposed to throw. If you are happy with him "leading' then why point out that he will progress into an Elite Passer?
has been led to 0.5 playoff wins by his defense
congrats to the other NFC south teams.
find myself wishing that this was raiders news. but even the raiders appear to be better than this now...
He can throw well. He has a strong arm and has shown flashes of brilliance. They've added some more weapons, so it will be interesting to see how he plays this year.
i feel bad for panthers fans and players
funchness is a worse version of k-ben
Everything about Cam Newton screams...MIDDLE OF THE PACK!!!!!! And that's what he is. He's not among the elite nor does he totally suck, just an 16-18 ranked QB out of 32. The more talent ya surround him with doesn't matter. He's simply not that great or that bad.
http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-sh...210405039.htmlNewton not only got a mega-deal from the Panthers, it's one of the biggest the NFL has ever seen. Newton will make $67.6 million in the first three years of his five-year, $103.8 million deal, according to multiple reports. The deal became official on Tuesday.
Holy this just keeps getting better.
Imagine that extension after 3rd year
don't know how i feel about this.. too much guarantees, but i guess they wouldn't have gone away from him in 3 years, so they may as well guarantee his money. They had little leverage honestly.
Who is the Texans QB? How many times did he lead them to the playoffs???
lol you always resort to this same stupid tactic aka deflection. bene never claimed the texans have a great qb, and you dont see the texans paying their qb's crazy amounts of money.
