Damn Microcenter had GTX 980s on clearance for $250 a couple of days ago, and people were printing that page out and getting Best Buy to price match on it.

Damn I wish I would have tried, since I could probably get close to $250 for my 970.

Damn, game over once you get the Bozar out of the Toxic Caves in FO2. Only prob is you gotta go solo or you'll rip your party to shreds with it.

taking out the whole casino Bishop runs easily with that ing thing. Of course after barebacking his daughter and wife.

No reason to even get the plasma rifle in Fallout 2?

And yeah, this game is much better than Fallout 1, even with the bugs.

Also, holy , Microcenter had the EVGA GTX 970 SC ACX for $143. But out of stock everywhere by now. Time to head to Best Buy to price match?

    http://www.microcenter.com/product/4...970_video_card

    That's the specific 970 I already have.

I just found out that's not the one I have, it's the original ACX 970 that they only sold for a week or two because everyone was returning it for coil whine. Still, buy that for less than half price and then RMA it and get sent the good version of the SC card, or maybe an SSC since they don't produce the SC any more.

I'm looking at the Gigabyte mini one... still overclocked, just not as much, but only one fan and cheaper... plus has all the connectors...

If you're looking to buy tomorrow the two best 970s are the Gigabyte G1 Gaming and MSI Gaming. The EVGA SSC ACX is worthy too. I'd stay away from blowers, EVGA SC, Zotac, and Asus Strix since they don't have as good of power delivery as the first three, and power delivery is always the factor limiting my boost clocks on my EVGA SC ACX.

I have heard bad things about that one, it's loud and throttles in reviews I have seen.

It's a big mother er, but it has the best cooler and the best power delivery of any of the 970s, and thus also hits the highest boost clocks on average.

Looks like we're getting the G1 Gaming... I had to check my case to make sure it clears the 13 inches, and it looks like it's gonna be ok...

While no one's looking let me trade you my EVGA SuperClocked for it, company won't know the difference tbh.

I don't even think it's called INS anymore

go ahead... I have my "Welcome to 'Murica" chinese-made t-shirt I received in my citizenship ceremony right here...

in other news, I also just put my hands a PS4 dualshock controller, and it's damn nice... I thought the XBox 360 controller was tough to beat, but this one feels pretty good.

The PS2 DualShock is still my favorite controller all time. I didn't like how light the PS3 dualshock felt. Is the PS4's more like the PS2 dualshock in that regard?

Post how high of a boost clock you can get with it. The power delivery on the G1 Gaming is ing great, most should hit 1500 MHz and good ones can hit 1600 MHz. Pretty impressive considering the reference boost clock is only 1178 MHz. My EVGA SuperClocked can only get in the low 1400s, which is still a ing lot I guess.

Never owned a PS2, so I don't know what those controls feel like, tbh. This one feels a bit lighter and smaller than the 360 controller, which is not bad considering it has a Li-Ion battery inside it. It just feels solid, good build. I thought that touch section would suck, but it's not bad.

As far as the g1 gaming, specs read base: 1178 MHz / boost: 1329 MHz. BTW, I have one wire coming out of the PSU with 2 8-pin connectors. I was thinking of using that to feed the card. Is that ok, or should I use separate lines coming out of the PSU?

I think the G1 Gaming uses two 6-pins. Are your connectors 8-pin or 6+2 on your PSU?

Also ing , I just got the GECK to return to Arroyo expecting a massive orgy with the tribal es for saving the town, and all I see is that got shaman telling me everyone got raped by aliens or whatever.

New Reno with the Bozar in the casinos is pretty ing fun tbh.

Actually, I just checked and the card needs one 6 and one 8. I definitely remember having a 6+2 there, so it should be ok.

The big cities in F2 were the best, tbh... random encounters are not bad, but the towns are nice.

Also, you can use MSI Afterburner to overclock your card. No reason not to with a G1 Gaming, its cooler is overkill for GM204 so the stays quiet even under heavy overclocks. You have to go in and enable raising voltage in the settings in Afterburner, but you're limited to safe values as long as you don't flash a custom BIOS on it (which would void your warranty). Afterburner has an onscreen display you can setup to show GPU usage, VRAM usage, temperatures, core and memory clocks, etc too.

Right now, it's probably more than enough for what I'm gonna be working on. Once I move it to gaming, if it's a 4-5 fps difference, I'll probably won't even bother.

It's worth it to bump up that clock, and doesn't come with any of the downsides regarding temperature or fan noise you'd see in hotter cards like the AMD 200/300 series, the Nvidia 700 series, or the balls to wall Maxwell cards (980Ti and an X). I have one of the worst cooled 970s on the market (EVGA SuperClocked ACX 2.0, one of the three heat pipes doesn't even contact the core) and even here in Texas in the middle of the summer with a fan curve optimized more for quiet the highest it ever goes is 75C on an overclock above 1400 MHz.

In a game like GTA V stock 970 is just below what's needed for a mostly locked 60 fps at 1080p with most of the settings cranked, but an overclock to 1400+ MHz closes the gap so that the worst drops are in the high 50s and not noticeable. Drops to the low 50s at stock are easily noticeable though.

What was your porn name. I'm Mountenjoy. I'm surprised they didn't let you choose Buck Naked since the game is so filled with pop culture references.
