Woj strikes me as a really driven and compe ive guy. He's the asshole that no one likes because he works too hard and takes his job too seriously, but that everyone really admires and respects deep down.
He's one of the biggest s in sports media, tbh..

He's a sportswriter with access unlike any other in the NBA including the hacks that work for their TV network. I always found it intriguing that he could do it with a caustic personality. He is retributive towards franchises and they still come to him. Outside of those hatchet jobs, he sticks to facts. Twitter distills his reporting I guess.
He's the anti-espn and I bet they hate that. Dude had Scotty Brooks fired and Billy Donovan to replace him like 10 days before anyone else was reporting that Brooks was in trouble. And countless other examples...dude is money. By the way if Woj reports LMA rumored to sign with Spurs I'll be elated. If Stein of Brussard report it yawn....

I think he has that access precisely because of his "caustic personality." I remember that Woj from 5 or 6 years ago mostly just wrote take-down pieces of various teams or players (including the Spurs). And many of those articles were very influential. As of late however (and especially with the advent of Twitter), he has drifted more towards breaking insider news.
I don't think those two are unrelated. It's possible that teams, fearful of negative press from Woj, have been giving him insider access in exchange for positive press. We already know that this is exactly what happened with Joe Dumars.

I'll put it like this. There's a lot of stupid BS that comes out of the mouth of the these guys that ticks me off, but then I remember we have the Spurs in common and I just focus on that.
