That reminds me of a rather one sided conversation I had recently:
Specifically,
" LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Four Kentucky couples are suing a clerk who is refusing to issue gay-marriage licenses — or any marriage licenses at all — following the U.S. Supreme Court decision that same-sex couples have a legal right to marry.
The American Civil Liberties Union of Kentucky filed a federal lawsuit against Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis on Thursday afternoon on behalf of two sexual and two heterosexual couples, all of whom were turned away when they tried to get marriage licenses from Davis' office this week.
Davis has said that her Christian beliefs prevented her from complying with the Supreme Court decision, so she decided to issue no more marriage licenses to any couple, gay or straight. She could not be reached Thursday after the lawsuit was filed. Her office was already closed and she did not respond to an email......"

She took her ball and went home
Why a lawsuit though? Just fire her ass and be done with it.
How can couples who want to marry fire her?
OP is known as the county cuck.
The State can't legally fire her over that...
She should be reassigned though, if she can't do her job.
Yep.
Union protected job and all...
No, just no. It's the law:

It would have been nice of you to have quoted the pertinent parts.
It would be nice of you to read and learn so you stop posting stupid ...
It shall be an unlawful employment practice for an employer -
(1) to fail or refuse to hire or to discharge any individual, or otherwise to discriminate against any individual with respect to his compensation, terms, conditions, or privileges of employment, because of such individual’s race, color, religion, sex, or national origin;
We discussed this more thoroughly on the "smh Texas" thread, BTW
some things never change. he prob hasn't changed his mind anyway and thinks unions are still ultimately behind this you know
She could be guilty of a crime in Kentucky tho.
I thought Libs were saying if you won't issue gay marriage licences, don't issue any marriage licenses. So what's the problem?
What lib said that?
I think she is an elected official tbh. Can't fire those. Impeachment or recall election perhaps.
A Catholic bishop in Chicago refused to marry a same-sex couple. Religious pastors have ALWAYS had both the civil authority to perform legal marriages, AND the right of refusal for "moral" or other reasons.
They aren't govt employees who required to honor requests by taxpayers.

http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/l...cense-3335567710:20 a.m.William Smith Jr. and James Yates walked out of the clerk's office, shaking their heads in bewilderment.
Two months ago, the day after the U.S. Supreme Court legalized gay marriage across the nation, Yates got down on one knee and proposed to Smith, his partner of more than a decade.
They wanted to plan a summer wedding, so went days later to Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis' office for a license, and were turned away. That first time, they were shocked by the rejection.Davis cited her Christian belief against gay marriages and declared she would refuse licenses to all couples, gay or straight.
Two weeks ago, the morning after U.S. District Judge David Bunning ordered Davis to issue marriage licenses, Smith and Yates returned to her office. And when she rejected them again, their shock turned to anger.
On Thursday, they were turned away again.
"They just don't like gay people, they don't want us to get married," Yates said. "And they'd rather burn the earth and not let straight people in Rowan County get married either."....
I really hope she digs in on her religious beliefs and gets hauled off to jail. The lol entertainment value of seeing the evangelical outrage will be off the charts
" MOREHEAD, Ky. (AP) — The Supreme Court on Monday ruled against the Kentucky county clerk who has refused to issue same-sex marriage licenses, and the clerk will arrive at work Tuesday morning to face her moment of truth.Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis will have to choose whether to issue marriage licenses, defying her Christian conviction, or continue to refuse them, defying a federal judge who could pummel her with fines or order that she be hauled off to jail...."
She's gonna wilt real quick when they start talking jail time imo
Not doing her job? fire her.
Agree with boo. Just fire her. No one gives a anyway.
