I think it's just a rumor at this point ,but I've seen it reported at Greek media as well. I think we'll just have to wait and see where this is going.
    Thanks for keeping us updated.

The words "broken foot" and big man are never a good combination.

This is not a rumor, it's official. But that injury of his foot is questionable (nobody can't confirm that the foot was broken, so probably isn't, maybe some different kind of injury)

Just wanted to ask again - What broadband service can you purchase to watch the games? I don't mind paying as I'd rather watch good quality streams.

Does that FibaTV still exist? I remember using that years ago to watch one of the World Championships. I think it was 5 or so years ago that I last used that.

It's called livebasketball.tv now. A monthly subscription costs $10 and covers the whole tournament (don't forget to cancel the subscription at the end as it renews automatically). There are apparently some geo-restrictions though, so you might want to check with their customer service first if anything is blocked.

"It showed medical examinations in Milan, which are oversaw by the doctors of San Antonio, and after which he signed a professional contract. Also, Boban is reviewed by our medical committee headed by Dr. Radovanovic and have made all of tests, from scaners, MRI to all possible examinations at which all the results were negative.", said Djordjevic.

However, the problem still exists, because the famous NBA team was explicit to Marjanovic appears to additional inspections.

"From the medical team San Antonio we have received email request to forbid Boban to train for next six to eight weeks, and we went out to meet them to appear on Thursday in Los Angeles for an examination. We do not know on what basis did that request because with Marjanovic, I repeat, all right. It is not force majeure, but a force. It is absolutely something more than a basketball, something you can not influence", Djordjevic said.

BTW Aleksandar Djordjevic is legend of Serbian, European basketball and currently head coach of Serbian NT.

It's very surprising that Spurs didn't know about that broken foot when they signed Marjanovic. A broken foot, if it's really that, is a career altering injury for a basketball player.

Spurs are strict rules when it come to injuries and NT:
    1) They don't let a player go with his NT if he isn't 100% healthy and if there is a risk to aggravate a previous injury.
    2) They only trust their own medical staff.

Spurs won't change their mind about Marjanovic. He will need to come to SA and be evaluate by Spurs' doctors. If his foot is as good as new, he will allowed to play the Eurobasket, otherwise he won't.

If they want him to travel to LA, it's likely to be seen by the same doctor that did the surgery and Ginobili's and Mahinmi's ankles (Richard Ferkel). He is Spurs' specialist for the ankle/feet issues. And if what Serbian NT staff is true, it won't be a that big deal and Marjanovic will be cleared to play for his NT in a couple of days.

Boban may not necessarily like it, but it sounds like good due diligence to me. The Spurs just invested good money in this guy and are counting on him to fill the Baynes role, and they should be absolutely positive he is healthy if he is going to play Euroball. If he's not healthy, then like Bruno said, they will treat it just like they would any other Spur.

It's problem this ty statement now. Not injury. Here is what Misko Raznatovic (Boban's agent) said:

    Which mean:

    1. Last week, Bobans successful past medical tests in Milano, organised by Spurs. Afther that, he joined Serbian NT.
    2. After media reports about Boban's playing with stress fracture, SAS send another request for new test in America this week.
    3. After results from those tests, will be known Spurs stance about this unfortunate situation.
    4. Last test of player, done by our (Serbian) doctors, show that the injury is fully rehabilitated. So we can hope for the best.

It happened in 2009 when TP had a sprained ankle he had to leave the French National Team for a few days, got cleared to play, sat out a few friendlies and then played the eurobasket. So I believe Bruno is right if his foot has indeed healed he will be able to return to the Serbian team.

Russian basketball federation is suspended by FIBA and they will not participate in this Eurobasket. For now, Olympic in Rio are questionable too.

I really hope NBATV does show the games. Not only because I want to watch great basketball, but I really want to see how TP looks. This will be a good test for TP and hopefully he passes the eyeball test in terms of speed (and stays healthy).

If you are interested to watch as many games as possible I would definitely recommend getting a subscription. There are only so many group stage games that can be televised. But if you just want to see the later stages of the tournament it's probably not necessary as some kind of US broadcast should be available.
One thing to consider is the time difference, most prime time games over here will be taking place in the afternoon for the US. So having the ability to watch archived games might be more useful to you.

What's the status of Lithuanian bball? It's amazing how much talent and above all knowledge of the game and team play they deliver for such a small country.

Lithuania will be in there fighting for Gold. Probably the only country in the world where bball is officially the no1 sport.

Also ,if Lithuania finish 1st at their group (which is pretty easy looking at their compe ion) ,they will have a relatively easy path to the semifinals of the tournament and a good chance to win a medal.

What are the chances a Greek guy supporting both Chelsea and the Spurs? We should start a Silver-and-Black-and-Blue club. Feeling confident for Greece's chances in this tourney, we're not missing any key piece.

Well ,I've met some Chelsea fans and I've also seen some Spurs' fans online ,but never both at the same time. Seriously ,I think I'm the only one.

Yes. guilty on both Spurs and Chelsea charges. Greek too. It's a small world , especially in the Internet age. Anyway, we should keep the Greek talk to a minimum, this forum is not very amenable to Greeks ever since KBP sullied our name, lol.
