Respect.
Gervin is top 5 spur of all time just behind Manu and Tony.
The Iceman still has game! I'd take him over Jimmer.
This is just too awesome to not have its own thread tbh.

Was that from corner 3? He wasn't much of a 3pt shooter in his time- maybe because he slashes too much from what I heard. (Or there is no 3 yet when he started.)
He is the 2nd most talented in basketball behind Tim.
Smoothest player in the NBA, totally effortless on offense.
He did not slash, he floated.
Gervin reminds me of Slow Mo!
I know it should be inverted, but I never saw Gervin play.

Slow Mo:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XiRDE1YT2bo
Several tricky fingerrolls and finishes in the paint, both like to use the glass off the dribble. Slow Mo more of a passer, Gervin a better shooter? Gervin a legend, Slow Mo a newcomer in the scene. Still I see a resemblance.
If you mean the 63 year old George Gervin reminds you of SlowMo, I agree.
lol obviously not what I meant, but if slow mo can shoot the 3 like 63 yr. old Gervin, then I'll take it too...
The Iceman was incredible. The most creative and explosive scorer I've ever seen. He had every shot, knew every angle used every ball spin, all with the smoothest/coolest delivery. Just a joy to watch.
What lift on that jumper!! His knees do not approve of this message!
Form is still great!
lol, gervin was a better all time spurs than Manu and Parker, he is number 3. Then you can put Manu/Parker at 4
I have to put Gervin at #3 too. He's the reason that I'm a Spurs fan instead of a Rockets fan (Gervin > Malone).
But he didn't win a le! That's all that matters in sports!
(And Eli Manning is better than Dan Marino, and Chris Bosh better than The Mailman and Sir Charles)
I love Gervin, but no.
David Robinson easily. Prime DRob was putting up better numbers than LeBron at his best.
George was the Spurs first 'franchise' player. I think he's solidly the 3rd best Spur all-time behind TD (one) and Robinson (two).
His shot looked a little slow on that video, tbh. He might need to work with Chip on a quicker release were we to bring him back this year. I'd like to see how he performs in camp before drawing any conclusions based on one short highlight clip.
Max??? MLE money maybe. He is a 63 year old off guard after all. How many 63 year olds are commanding max money these days?
Manu ahead of Gervin, tbch.
Uh...I would be fine with Ice running the point. He's in better shape, shoots better, passes better, and dribbles better than whoever Spurs have slated to start. Whoever that may be.
If its for the max, why not?
