Korver is a good defender? Never noticed tbh
The “3 & D” player has become a highly coveted asset for coaches and GM’s over the last couple of seasons. With teams fashioning towards smaller lineups and attempting 3 pointers at an increasing rate, it has never been a better time to have a “3 & D” specialist capable of spacing the floor and knocking down open jumpers while excelling on the defensive end in one-on-one matchups around the perimeter. This summer the popularity of the “3 & D” player was solidified as players like DeMarre Carroll, Jae Crowder and Kyle Singler all signed big contracts...

Korver is a good defender? Never noticed tbh
How does Kyle Korver rate a higher defensive score than Verde? In fact, Danny has a lower defensive rating than most. and what the heck is an MSCORE?
I'm learning that a lot of players I never saw as good defenders are in fact amazing defenders. Charts are amazing!
Yup kawhi has the highlights, but green brings the hustle. It should of really been a double dpoy award. And a bargain too.
that list is horrible. terry dunleavy korver mclemore morrow fournier are all chuckers who doesnt play D
I'm assuming that this ranking does not give a about D. KK is an amazing shooter, but his D is really nothing special, to say it nicely.
That's because he's terrible at it.
o with the “3 & D” players identified, it came to ranking their shooting and defensive abilities. I ranked the players on 4 statistical categories and gave them a score based on their rank where being ranked first scored you 34 points, second scored you 33 points and so forth. I wanted to reward players who not only excelled in scoring/defending but also had positive impacts on their team. Therefore, I ranked players by their on/off court offensive and defensive rating differentials (difference in the teams offensive/defensive rating versus the players individual offensive/defensive rating). Their individual abilities were ranked according to 3 point efficiency (points per 3 point attempt) and differential in opponents field goal percentage for shots > 15 feet from the hoop. The offensive and defensive scores were combined together to give each player a “3 score” and “D score.”
Advanced stats, 2015!
Chart is trash and unneeded. A healthy Wesley Matthews was the ONLY 3&D player better than Green.
Kyle Korver the gawd
Korver is not a terrible defender, though he is a better team defender than man defender. Danny is very good on help defense and elite on the ball.
i'm just going to go ahead and call bull now.
Let's see kyle shut down mvp curry
Yep. Green > Korver overall tbh.
That's what they call him when he visited Manila recently.
3D
Always ready for interviews, humble and unassuming (even if he's a big contributor to a championship), & sometimes the media almost forgot Faried was sitting there with him, they forgot or ignored(?), to ask him questions too!
He didn't embarrass the Phil. Spurs fans, incl. me..thanks God.
lol, Korver the whitey good at defense
This is the worst "evidence" I have ever seen.
I wouldn't worry too much about this. Some player fans do this to butter their argument without really even figuring out what the numbers mean. I'm hypocritical though, I didn't bother to look, but I saw where the following players had a better D rating than Green (who I think is a little whiny girl) and moved on:
Paul Pierce
Alan Anderson
Wayne Ellington
Iman Shumpert
Hollis Thompson
Jason Terry
Good for ruffling some feathers,
Thanks Kanye
11 out of the top 15 were ranked better to significantly better than Green. Stupid .
Those of you who don't think Korver plays D aren't watching. Korver is strong and plays hard. He's a bigger version of Danny Ainge. He's one of the few guys in the NBA that I would straight-out call "dirty" (as was Ainge). But he's a guy you like if he's on your team. If the Spurs were looking for a guy to put on the team to being some toughness ("I want some nasty") they couldn't to much better than Korver.
I hate the sonofa .
Why is Klay Thompson not on this list? Strange
Please don't confuse some a dude made up in his head with actual accepted advanced stats.
Just a guess, but since he's made all-star, and is considered a versatile scorer, he's not a strictly 3/D type. Just a guess. I don't know how they rank this stuff either. Very nebulous.
Relax, just joking around. There's still how many days until the season starts?
