    Gotta win game 1.
Game 2 is the real key for both teams. Ventura has been lights out lately, especially at home. Plus his stuff is clearly the best on the team and he was great in the post-season last year. Royals are expected to win that one. Astros are expected to win Game 3 with Keuchel at home. Game 2 is the difference maker. Cueto has been inconsistent since the Royals traded for him. If the Astros win that game, Royals will most likely use Ventura on 3 days rest for Game 4 assuming Astros win Game 3. If the Royals win Game 2 and end up being ahead 2-1 after Game 3, they will save Ventura for Game 5 at home on regular rest.

Man, I picked the Cubs to win this game but never figured they'd do it this dominantly.

I thought Bruce Bochy was the best manager in baseball, but one could make a case for Joe Maddon as well.

-Great game from Chirinos! That homerun was obviously huge but he called a great game as well.

-Diekman comes in and MOWS THEM DOWN 1-2-3 in the 7th and 8th. Huge.

-Dyson comes in the 9th instead of Tolleson and does a great job keeping everything low except one pitch witch was middle in. Not surprised Tolleson got the shaft considering the blown save recently.

-Hopefully Beltre is ok, he is the heart and soul of this team. Alberto did a terrific job on defense in a tight spot.

-Optimistic about game 2 with Hamels on the mound. He knows how to pitch to the Jays with his time in Philly

I say sit Beltre til Sunday tbh. Even with Hamels on the mound tomorrow I doubt we get the win, but if the younger guys keep producing anything is possible.

Price continues to choke in the playoffs

Hamilton looked absolutely lost out there. They need to work on that quick, or start Venable or maybe Stubbs in LF.

Not really sure what the the Jays were thinking in the past week, but then again Gibbons is a moron. Gave away the best record in the AL, fielded their second team on two occasions, didn't pitch Price at all...and started a pitcher on one day rest? Baffling. Won't be surprised if this bites them in the ass.
    lol

Hope we win tomorrow with Hamels, and have Colby pitch back in Texas for the clincher. Rest on our laurels while Houston and Kansas City take it to 5 grueling games.

Eh, I think it's more of the Royals and Blue Jays being overhyped, but you can't deny they look ready to win now.

Statistically (Pythagorean W/L), the Astos were a 93 win team. They lost more than their share of close games and it cost them the division and nearly a playoff spot.

It's more about the playoffs being unpredictable and how baseball teams get hot and cold at certain times. This Royals team is better overall than last year's team, but they had a magical ride thru the postseason last year. The Blue Jays were the hottest team in baseball in the 2nd half but they slowed down the last week or so. Also the Royals had a huge lead all season in the beginning of September and started to rest guys this month and it cost them momentum which is why they had a month. Still one win today and the Royals are back in the series.
