get well soon Manu.
I think it would be of bad taste of me to remind everyone I said he would not last long at this heavy usage. So I will not do it.
Out at least the next two games due to hip tightness. Will be re-evaluated Saturday.
get well soon Manu.

Another reason why the spurs bench can not be over reliant on him.
Damn. Glad that it's not a severe injury, but disconcerting that his body is struggling already only 10 games into the season.
SloMo and Butler should see some increased usage, so time for them to shine.
Manu is really good with plenty of rest. If he played only with 3+ days of rest, they could get 40-45 regular season games out of him and he'd be in great shape for the playoffs.
tbh they should shut him down till mid December.
that will give Pop and the rest of the team to figure out a real gameplan.
Well he's 38,it's not that surprising...
I guess they're sitting him for two games to get him a bit of rest and prevent further (and worse) injuries
It ing sucks..i knew it was coming..And Pop rightfully t isn't taking any chances.. this team in its current shape just needs him unfortunately..the starting lineup better get their together because the bench can't be counted on to bail you out for the whole season..Get well soon Gino..
Get well soon... fortunately, it sounds like minor stuff...
He's a rhythm guy, he gotta keep playing, even if limited mins...
I think the games after Denver are a back to back anyways, and he was supposed to rest one of those...
Yeah, and as I said in another thread at least he's resting on Friday and not on Saturday when I'll be able to watch the game
Yes, at home vs Memphis..makes sense to he was going to rest vs the depleted Pelicans anyway..
Manu gets to rest and reenergize his legs, more minutes for other players that need it, and also it forces everyone to be more on point, because Manu won't be able to bail them out. No objections to this news at all.
Feels more preemptive to me. He could probably play through it but that would be seriously risking injury. I imagine that we'll probably see him play in spurts the rest of the season with "tightness" putting him out in between.
. That takes out our 2nd option on offense. Now we have what?
1. Tony dribble
2. Kawhi
3. Duncan postup
4. Green iso
5. Diaw?
6. West postup
Pop's gonna have to think something up, we were getting a lot of our scoring punch from Manu and now he only has two viable weapons in Tony and Kawhi. Might have to draw up some plays for Kyle or Patty. Still need a few more games to watch that other guy that we signed, I forget his name, and hope he picks up the Tony-dribble system.
Noticed on tv that after his 3 point dagger yesterday he went straight over and told the gathering coaching staff about the tightness grabbing his hip.
Probably unrelated but on international league pass where you see warmups I have also caught him dunking pre-game. That was against Portland away and maybe he does it all the time, unlike in games where he decides against it, but it definitely surprised me.
Just hand the ball to LMAlpha and get the out d way
as much as i love manu i would not mind him getting extended periods of rest this season...
This is what concerned me about the SL having to depend so much in Manu to salvage games. As well as he has been playing it just wasn't sustainable for the length of the season. Maybe Lamarcus and Co. gets a sense of urgency out of this, rally together and bring an aggressive mindset.
I would expect Simmons to be recalled from the dleague. Nobody can really replace Manu, but the bench has good passers, and at least Kyle found his 3 pt stroke and has been scrappy the last couple of games.
Luckily it doesn't sound like anything serious for Manu, but my initial reaction was: sh*t!!!! . Pop just being careful as he should.
Time for Kyle to step up. Hope he does really well.
Are they bringing Simmons back? I'd imagine we need that slasher with Manu being out these next few games.
I wouldn't mind the team's strategy being super,crazy-cautionary with Manu as a way of having an excuse to preserve him throughout the season... even more so than they have been in these past few years. Give him multiple days off between stretches of games or road trips, but nothing long enough for him to lose his rhythm or in-game confidence.
"Looks like you got a scratch on your arm, Manu... take it easy the next 3 days, let that thing heal. Here's a band-aid."
Still a vital cog, team needs that playmaking ability
