29. San Antonio Spurs: Ante Zizic, Cibona Zagreb
Position: Center
Age: 19 (1/4/1997)
Height, Weight, Wingspan: 6’11”, 254 pounds, 7’3″
Slash Line: .648/.000/.716
Season Averages: 27.5 MPG, 14.2 PPG, 8.6 RPG, 2.6 ORPG, 0.7 APG, 1.4 BPG
The San Antonio Spurs have a number intriguing options at No. 29 overall, and every one of them comes with immense potential. The two most realistic options for San Antonio can be found at center, where Tim Duncan is nearing the end of his glorious road.
The question is, would San Antonio rather go with Ante Zizic or Ivica Zubac?
Zubac is gaining steam, but Zizic has been in my Top 30 for quite some time now. He’s a big and athletic center who runs the floor well, sets hard screens in the pick-and-roll, and has the potential to develop into a very solid defender in the NBA.
Zubac’s size and potential are difficult to ignore, but Zizic has a raw passion for the game is very difficult to find in players.
Zizic plays from whistle to whistle, competing without relent and checking the boxes on what it means to be a modern 5. His skill set is still relatively raw, but his willingness to learn and athleticism would bring a much-needed spark to San Antonio’s aging interior.
If developed in the ideal manner—and we all know San Antonio can do that—Zizic could be a starting-caliber NBA player.

Tim Duncan will retire eventually and Boban Marjonavic isn’t the long-term answer in the middle. Spurs coach Gregg Popovich will turn the Croat into an All-Star by 2019.

It wouldn't be the first time the San Antonio Spurs looked overseas for talent. Ante Zizic is one of the most productive international draft prospects in the field. And he possesses one of those motors that ultimately works at every level.
His calling card in the pros: hustling, running the floor and crashing the boards. He puts himself in position to pick up easy buckets.
With Tim Duncan's career nearing the end and Boban Marjanovic's contract already up, Zizic seems like a reasonable late-first target for the Spurs.

No. 29) Spurs- Ante Zizic, C, Croatia
This just feels like such a Spurs pick. I probably know less about him than any other prospect on this list, but the Spurs won’t mind stashing the 19-year-old center overseas, especially if Tim Duncan wants one more shot at glory.

No. 29) Spurs- Ante Zizic, C, Croatia
The Spurs taking a european seven-footer? Unheard of! Zizic is on a lot of GM’s boards and will land with someone as a draft-n-stash.

29. San Antonio: Ante Zizic
Center / 6-11 / Cibona Zagreb (Croatia) / 1997
13.4 ppg, 8.0 rpg
The Spurs are known for taking Europeans and stashing them until the time is right. Zizic is a high-energy player that could develop into a Tiago Splitter-type for a team. He's also among the most NBA ready Euros in this year's draft despite being just 19.

29. San Antonio Spurs
Ante Zizic, C, Cibona Zagreb
Jeff McDonald from the San Antonio Express-News
Why Zizic? “Rule of thumb when it comes to the Spurs on draft night: When in doubt, go with a Euro with a hard-to-pronounce name. The 19-year-old Zizic is the kind of raw prospect the Spurs would love to develop on someone else’s dime.”

29. SAN ANTONIO: Ante Zizic, C, Croatia.
The Celtics have spent significant time scouting Zizic, and he’s a very strong possibility instead of Maker at No. 23. He also fits the Spurs’ draft-and-stash plan to a T.
