I hate these mother ers. It takes twice as long as swiping the card. Why can't the ing machines do either way?
It only takes a moment unless they are downloading your transaction history also. They are spying on you.
BigBank is supposed to be speeding it up smartcard verifications.
A Frenchman invented, patented smartcards 40 years ago, and Europe has been using them for 30+ years. No problems with speed.
USA is so primitive, backwards in many ways, because BigCorp and its investors prefer to pocket profits rather than invest.

It's too bad France is irrelevant in the world today though.
tyep, France is only useful when helping the American empire bomb the out of somewhere, right?
Or helping the American colonies defeat the English.
The only "relevant" country is America, right?
I was just messing w/ you
there are Ms who think EVERY country except USA is irrelevant. They support Trump.
believe me I won't be voting for Trump.. This election's candidates are all garbage IMO. My vote will go to who sucks the least IMO
Where do you guys use the chip cards?
Because in the small restaurant I go to where they accept chip card payments, their machine reads the chip in 5 seconds or so.
The cashier punches in the amount, you stick the card in the slot, wait 5 seconds, and done. Receipt prints out.
(It's a "Clover" machine, not Apple or something.)
Convenience store and one or two retail stores. I need to check how long. I may be thinking it takes longer just because I have to stick the card in and wait. As opposed to swiping and putting the card back in my wallet. Maybe the transaction time is the same. And I'm thinking it takes longer because I don't have my wallet back in my pocket sooner.
