Yahoo: Version II: The Vertical's 2016 NBA mock draft by Jonathan Givony, 11 May 2016
    29. San Antonio
Brice Johnson | PF | North Carolina
    Senior | 21 | 6-9, 230
Insider info: With a decent chunk of their frontcourt rotation either entering free agency or on the back end of its career, the Spurs could look to address power forward. Players at this draft slot come with tiny guarantees relative to the exploding salary cap and little risk, so taking a flyer on an ultra-productive college player like Brice Johnson could make a lot of sense. If he pans out, he’ll be producing for four years on a very valuable contract.

    29. San Antonio Spurs – Brice Johnson, F, North Carolina

Have we seen Tim Duncan’s last game in the NBA? The future first-ballot Hall of Famer has not made an announcement yet, but Duncan faded down the stretch in the playoffs this season, leading many to speculate that he will retire in the coming weeks. If so, the Spurs could use some forward depth behind LaMarcus Aldridge. Coming off of a huge senior season, UNC’s Brice Johnson could be a plug-and-play guy for a Spurs team that seeks to reload in a potentially post-Duncan world. There have been some maturity questions with Johnson, which makes the Spurs a very strong possible destination for him. No franchise in the NBA, or maybe even pro sports, has San Antonio’s level of effective leadership.

San Antonio Spurs: Brice Johnson, PF, North Carolina – With Tim Duncan’s future still up in the air, Johnson can at least add some athleticism to the frontcourt. While not the most skilled offensive player, he has improved a lot over the past few years, and his ability to run the floor and rebound could make him a very good value this low in the first round.

    29. San Antonio Spurs– Brice Johnson, 6’9″, 209 lbs, PF, North Carolina, Senior

Did you see the way the Oklahoma City Thunder out-jumped the Spurs en route to a rebounding advantage in the Western Conference semifinals? It wasn’t the only factor that led to San Antonio’s demise, but the point is they need an influx of fresh legs at the 4 spot. Johnson is a safe prospect who R.C. Buford and Co. would maximize.

Looked at the video on his weaknesses and his defense is very sub-par for the NC team. I doubt if the Spurs would want him.

Okay, all the Mock Drafts on the internet have the Spurs drafting this guy. That can only mean there's no way the Spurs actually get him.

    29. SPURS - Brice Johnson, F (North Carolina)

Opinions on Johnson are mixed given his career at Carolina, but here’s thinking the Spurs won’t pass on his production as they’ll need frontcourt help and length.

    29. San Antonio -- Brice Johnson, F, North Carolina

There are questions about how much of a ceiling exists with Johnson's game at the next level. But he gives the aging Spurs a nice jolt off the bench due to him being an exceptional athlete with abov-average leaping ablity.

    29. San Antonio Spurs

    BRICE JOHNSON PF, North Carolina
Johnson has good size, athleticism, and instincts, and the Spurs always find solid organizational depth at the end of the first round. He won’t be a superstar, but he’ll fit in well enough.

    29. San Antonio Spurs

    Brice Johnson | North Carolina | PF | 6-10 | 230

He coasts with frustrating regularity, enough to become the difference between first-round talent and second-round reality. Johnson has good scoring instincts, the experience of four seasons on Tobacco Road and good size at power forward along with the leaping ability that won two high school state high-jump championships in South Carolina.

    By Mark Strotman

    29. San Antonio Spurs: Brice Johnson, PF, North Carolina

Tim Duncan is on his last legs, and Johnson fits the bill as a classic Spurs pick. A four-year contributor for North Carolina, Johnson’s rim protection and athleticism would only add to a San Antonio defense that’s annually among the best in the NBA. Putting age aside, Johnson is one of the best prospects in the class.
