Beijing is still way worse.
These games are going to be awful imo. Zika, toilet water at the beach, dead bodies and trash for those doing water sports:
And crime and pros ution throughout the city. But I guess it's all okay, you have scantily clad women you can take pictures of and post on the internet, that's all that matters, right?
What, Bogota, Juarez, Tijuana or Havana wasn't available to host?
Beijing is still way worse.
We had Bloods & Crips slaughtering each other and anyone who happened by in '84 during those Olympics and nobody gave two s. Leave these people to have their Olympics in peace. Christ, we showed our asses two years ago when Russia had their Winter Olympics.
Act like somebody.
Link? Source? I'm pretty sure I'd have heard or read something about that by now, the internet is pretty large.
So is your ass. Shut up.
So I take it you pulled it straight from there. The only thing Google told me is that they did gang sweeps and just rounded them up before the Games. If they did something like that today, BLM would be all over it crying injustice.
They could always go one step lower and let the san antonio southside host it.
Ebolatown Africa would still be worse IMO
Or, that place where that "Gentle Giant" knocked over that convenience store for a box of cigars.
So does that mean you aren't going to watch them?
It's going to be an *olympics anyway without the Russian track and field team.
Like in 1984 and for the US in 1980.
As for the other post, I certainly am not flying into Rio for the Games.
Agreed... especially in the political and economical mess Brazil is into tbh
Thread- That is complete B.S.! The Feds started cleaning up the areas surrounding LA Coliseum a year in advance. Gangbangers were rounded up & thrown in prison. Hundreds of houses got a complete makeover. The F.B.I were everywhere. I attended several events in 1984 & I doubt if Sol Cal had been that safe since the 1932 Olympics…God Bless St. Ronnie & the LA politicians for pulling off the greatest Olympics ever…

Never go full socialist.
Nice propaganda, but, you're full of .
Couldn't care less where the Olympics are held.
The big question is who wins this and will this be the team?
4x1
Jamaica....Nikel Ashmeade...Asafa Powell...Yohan Blake...Usain Bolt
USA....Mike Rodgers....Justin Gatlin...Marvin Bracy....Trayvon Bromell
Curious if 200m man Ameer Webb will be considered as our 4x1 anchor. He has ran a 9.94 and had that 200m SE which is important on a 4x1 anchor.
The star of the track & field could be South African Waybe Van Niekerk in the 400m. He has unusual 100/200 speed for a 400m man, he is the only sub 10.00/20.00/44.00 in history. There is a real chance he might threatened MJ's WR of 43.18. He did win the Worlds in 2015.
Marvin Bracy could have played football.
Olympic NFL wide receivers
Bob Hayes Cowboys/FAMU
Ron Brown Rams/ASU***
James Jett Raiders/WV
Bo Roberson Raiders/Cornell (1960 LJ silver, the first speedy Raider)
Johnny Jones Jets/Texas
Sam Graddy Broncos/Tenn***
Willie Gault Bears/Tenn***
***Were Raiders sometime in their career.

This country took a horrid economic downturn.
20 billion dollar cost with 5 billion dollars to be made? Sounds like a very bad deal. The IOC needs to be careful about just giving a "helping" hand.
When you give the games to Tokyo, London, LA, even Moscow, you can be sure the athletes and visitors will get the best protection. And they will make money (Moscow you won't know) The infrastructure is mostly in place. It turned out to be a horrible burden on Brazil.
The IOC members are getting paid before they make the decision. They don't care at this point.
Blacks need to boycott these Olympics, let everyone see just how weak ass white America is.
All season long these two high school kids Michael Norman (Cali) and Noah Lyles (Virginia) have been running great. Well that didn't stop at these Olympic trials. Both won their semi final heats of the 200m. While I do doubt they make the team they will be there in 2020 for sure.
This is the first time we have seen two HS kids in an Olympic trials 200m.
There was the great HS sprinter Dwayne Evans in 1972, he atually won bronze at the Olympics in the 200m. And fellow HSer Johnny Jones (Jets wide receiver to be) came in 6th in that Olympic 100m.
Galen Rupp is probably a go for the 10k and the Marathon.
If he could medal in both IMO he would have accomplished more than any other US distance runner. The great Zatopek is the only Olympian to capture gold in both. But that was back a ways and before the age of specialists in track.
The two events are about a week apart with the 10k first so Rupp might have a chance. Rupp ran a 2:10 qualifier in pretty hot weather so it should be interesting. 1st time marathoners coming off the track like Rupp often crash and burn in their second marathon.
And lose possible endorsements and the big money...
No. Not to make a point. I'm sure the swimmers would enjoy the bigger audience though.
