GOAT of his generation. He'd have 10 rings if he chased them like today's so called "stars".

Thanks Tim. Goat PF. Going to be really odd not seeing #21 out there next season .
Well, it'll be up there instead of out there before too long.

He was the man dominating with intelligence as much as under-rated physical skills. Perhaps the best shot-blocker ever in getting possessions among other great skills.

Great player, great person. Will ALWAYS remember that day we drew that ping pong ball, and still had no idea it was going to be as good as it was. Thanks Timmay

Really wish we would've gotten him one more.. but is still legendary. And nothing will ever top 2014 for me. Hats off to an incredible career.

Thank you does not do justice to what the city, franchise, and fanbase owe to Timmy. This is tough.. I've literally grown up watching TD play - I was 12 when we drafted him and have been a die hard fan ever since, all thanks to him.

Cheers to the Greatest Power Forward of all Time; the Spurs are the greatest organization in all of sports thanks to you being the foundation!

I knew this day was eventually going to be here but , you can never prepare yourself for it. I followed his career for almost 20 years now and this really sucks. Timmy, have a great post career and enjoy your children and life.

Hey, I will never be a SPur fan but today ...
    I salute Tim.
    Best big overall since Kareem.
Hakeem and shaq maybe even Robinson had better "primes"
None were more consistent and clutch than Tim.
    Quiet but fiery leader.

I said this many times downstairs but back in 1999 I was telling ANYONE who would listen I would trade Shaq form him straight up. Everyone in L.A. said I was crazy ... but I knew his game would age better than O'neal.
    Great player ...props

Though he'll likely never read it, Tim has my heartfelt thanks for his nineteen years of absolute greatness and unparalleled leadership.

Spurs culture exists as much because of Tim as anything (no slight to Pop) and that culture should sustain fans for a while.

Don't sit around asking when the Spurs will find a Duncan replacement, though. They'll never find a Duncan replacement. Nobody will for a very long time because guys like that are, by definition, not replaceable.

We've been blessed to watch and root for one of the top 10 players in the history of the game; a man who earned the genuine respect of all of his peers and many who played before him. He did it with a quiet dignity and sportsmanship that few of his actual peers in accomplishment have ever mustered. No controversies, no embarrassments, no strife, and no selfishness.

He is a standard-bearer for the quality of an NBA career, but he is THE standard bearer for the quality of a star teammate.

It's a sad day for us and for the NBA as a whole, but it's been an absolute thrill to have a seat for the ride over the last 19 years.

It was really time for him to go. He gave it his all in the final game. It's just sad that his coach has let him down in so many series and relied on him at 40 to do too much.
