Those old black guys faced hate every damn day. Every time they opened their eyes when they woke up, the expectation of hate came with it. That seizure of the heart when they are in a place all alone with a bunch of whiteys.
They deserved to be angry. Hateful! The fact that there are older black men now with grace and dignity in the face of what they had to live through is a true testament to the power of human good will and strength that does exist in some of us.
