#3 is still far behind, but Spain is rising quickly. Germany and Italy aren't that far away and Italy is a nightmare matchup for them.

Spain has one more Euro (they won one in 64 before 2008 and 2012) but we won one against them for a start. In WCs France results >> Spain. Head to head euro + wc France is also ahead.
Another factor is even though France is very erratic in terms of generation, france globally produced more good teams than Spain.
Germany, Italy, France and Spain in that order. Netherlands could have been much higher if not for those hundreds of Chokericks moments. They produced so many good teams and so many great players it's crazy.

Id put uru lower super old world cups shouldnt have as much weight to it. It was basically a friendly compe ion.

Yes it was a long time ago but they won a bunch of Copa america and they also continued to have some respectable/good WCs in 70, 66 and 2010. Both view are debattable imo
I'd say France is still above Spain. Even though they had a GOAT run between 2008 and 2012, Spain has been historically an average at best NT. In that sense France has been more consistent throughout the last 50/60 years.
Yeah I would put Africa ahead of Spain as well

1a. Brazil / Germany 1b
2. Italy
3. Argentina
4. France
5. Netherlands
6a. Spain / Uruguay 6b
7a. England / Portugal 7b
Notes:
- germany has been catching up on brasil tbh. love it or hate we've been in each big or small final at each ing tournament since '00 except '04. That's consistent excellence tbh. We're right up there, we need one more world cup and we'll be #1 tbh. Don't get me started on the 3 team copa while we have to duke it out with 3-4-5 legit contenders EACH euro.
- spain had a dominant decade but the netherlands have a much longer history of consistency at both euros and world cups, so this is an easy one tbh.
- uruguay have been good many times, just not netherlands good tbh. World cups before the war are
- england could only win by stealing one at home
^ BTW I agree on the notion of 1a and 1b tbh... Germany is closing the gap for sure, their consistency is amazing.
We are 2-1 against Germany all time, so we should be ahead of them tbh
