When the Player of His Generation leaves his team, one would expect that team will not do as well. Or maybe they will do as well, but certainly not better. So the Spurs won 67 games before their disappointing 2nd Round loss to OKC with ThunderRef.
OTOH lets see how Kirby Bryants team is affected by his departure. Surely the loss of this (in Laker Phans belief) top player will show the Lakers record and performance dropping off a cliff. Until they can replace the great Kirby. Right?
Lets track this.
Rack it!
Replace "$" with "cash" and you're a third of the way to your first haiku!
Lakers were clearly tanking. Spurs got exposed as the pretenders and cute regular season team they were. Jim was a walking corpse by the end of the season.
Let us never forget Jim's last moments as a spur:
BAAAAAHAHAHA! This will be my new signature!
And the best way to do that was to appoint Kirby as the leader, get the ball in his hands often.
Nice self ownage.
Jan 7th 2016.
8-29 Kirbys Lakers
13-26 Current Lakers
31-6 Timmy Duncan anchoring the D in his Player of Generation final season.
29-7 Current Spurs
Stale, Laker Phan could you do the math for us?
hahahahahahaha
Scroll to 1:20 of this vid to watch Tim Duncant totally meltdown in a jealous rage over Kobe...notice in the vid how he's sweating, eyes keep shifting like he's crossed eyed, and he keeps looking to the left and running his fingers through his nappy ass hair....this is hilarious...it was paining him inside to say something nice about Kobe. While Kobe was sitting at the podium just laughing. Told you Tim is a hater. Straight up....looks like a nervous wreck in this video. It's a classic.
You do know I was the first person to post that video of Jimmys last shot. hahahahahahaha
Here's another one for you Koonie.
Feb 7th 2016 Spurs.
43-8 Timmy Duncs anchoring the D etc
39-12 current Spurs without Duncs
Lakers
8-29 with Kirby taking the most shot attempts
18-36 currently with cancerous Kobe removed
These comparisons are stupid
Lakers added what, 3-4 players and changed HCs and somehow have won 8 out of their last 34 games after starting out 10 - 10?
Spurs this season are basically as good but have had injuries and lost some close games they should have won.
Basically, nothing's changed after the TOSBs retired.
Intended mainly for Laker Phan with nose implanted in Kobes sphincter.
However, to say the 1st half of the Spurs '15-16 season with a healthy Timmy Dunks is the same as this years team, please.
After Duncans other knee gave out later in the season, fine.
And what "3-4" player changes made a difference in the Lakers being 10 games better?
Again -please. It is the subtraction of the Chucker that accounts for the difference.

They drafted Ingram with the pick, he leads the team in games/minutes played
Lou Will is going to win 6MOY he's their leading scorer
Deng/Mozgov were signed as well
plus you add in the fact that Russell, Randle and Clarkson are all young players who are improving their games every year
Young/Williams/Russell all had a great start to the season which is why they were at .500 through 20 games, if Lakers had Lou Will last season they would have had the same record as they do now, tbh..
With how Kawhi has continued to improve this year and the addition of Gasol, there isn't much difference from last season
Basically point is that nothing's changed - Spurs are still the Spurs and Lakers are still garbage despite adding all these players.
Spurs are the 2nd best overall team in the West, Lakers will still finish bottom 3 in the league.
MVLou has been a laker since 2015 tbh
shyt really? I don't watch the Lakers that much but then again it's hard to differentiate between Young, Lou, Clarkson and Russell, they all chuck the ball the same way
and they both lost their starting spots. mozgov was even a DNP
