Used to love joining someone on Double Dragon and immediately throwing them into a pit
What are your top 10 games from the 8-bit era? Eg NES, Atari, Amiga, Sega Master System, and 1980s arcade games. I'll go with
1. Shinobi (arcade)
2. Mike Tyson's Punchout (NES)
3. Double Dragon (arcade)
4. Super Mario 1 (NES)
5. Duck Tales (NES)
6. Tecmo Super Bowl (NES)
7. Ninja Gaiden (NES)
8. Castlevania 2 Simon's Quest
9. Metroid (NES)
10. Contra (NES)
Honorable mention: Karetaka (Amiga), Super Mario 3 (NES), Shogun (Commodore 64), Flightmare (DOS), Kung Fu Master (arcade)
Used to love joining someone on Double Dragon and immediately throwing them into a pit
Those Contra games were the in 2 players mode
That intensity
I loved Balloon Fight tbh
Wow - getting a NES Classic console was way harder than I expected but I got one. Fun device.
I remember the 1st time I played DD it was in arcade; some dude joined me and I kept kicking his ass thinking his character was one the CPU bad guys
he almost killed me on the spot
Those controllers though. I'd have blisters and ruts and ridges on my hands.
TMNT III: The Manhattan Project
Legend of Zelda
Contra
Captain Skyhawk
Dragon Warrior
Dodgeball
Castlevania
Crystalis
Punchout
Paperboy
Way too young for 8-bit...
But I remeber enjoying Contra and Captain tsubasa for NES.
My uncle was always a bully, so he gives me a token at the old Pistol Pete's Pizza and instructs me to go join DD and throw the kid who was playing into a pit a few times.. Of course with how much I looked up to my uncle I jumped at the opportunity to not only get a token I didn't have, but to impress him..
Long story short, I successfully threw that got into a pit and handed him a game over, but then he succeeded in shoving me clean off the bench we were standing on right onto my back.. I took my instant karma punking like a champ, and walked back quietly to my table.
any list that doesn't include River City Ransom
Aw , I'd probably put that #7 on my list. Good catch, that game is amazing.
Frankly, no. I had a Commodore 64 at the time (PC master race, tbh)... I did hop into the SNES bandwagon...
yeah. You weren't actually playing a soccer game, you were just selecting options and see what the result was but it was badass either way.
1.)Super Mario Bros. 3
2.)Legend of Zelda
3.)Mike Tyson's Punch-Out
4.)Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link (underrated AF)
5.)Ninja Gaiden
6.)Metroid
7.)Dragon Warrior
8.)Maniac Mansion
9.)Faxanadu (underrated AF)
10.)Mega Man 2
HM: Rygar, Final Fantasy 2, Tetris, Castlevania I & II, Little Nemoream Master, Blaster Master, River City Ransom, Metal Gear, Batman, Ducktales, Contra, Festers Quest
In a lot of ways, it was just an RPG game totally dependent on stats...but yeah was cool.
Way too many to list, tbh... Arcade alone:
1) Super Punchout!
2) Karate Champ
3) Kung-Fu Master
4) Elevator Action
5) Wonderboy
6) Xevious
7) Gaplus
8) Star Force
9) Bubble Bobble
10) 1942
11) Ghost n Goblins
12) Exciting Soccer
13) Gyruss
14) Time Pilot
15) Ms Pacman
16) Donkey Kong
17) QBert
18) Gyrodine
19) Moon Patrol
20) Frogger
21) Commando
22) Tehkan World Cup
23) Dig Dug
24) Pole Position
25) Double Dragon
---
FWIW, Shinobi was Sega System 16 (like OutRun and Enduro Racer) and used a Motorola 68000, so technically a 32 bit system.
1. Goal
2. T&C Suff Design
3. World Cup Soccer
4. Mario 3
5. Zelda
6. Castlevania
7. Friday the 13th
8. Mike Tyson PO
9. Tecmo Bowl
10. Block Breaker
Honorable: Ice Hockey, 2020 Baseball, Double Dribble
did u guys ever played puzzle bubble or some jewel game at the arcades where u can just sit there long hours playin on one credit?
the 90s when daytona usa came out and a bunch of kents thinking they can drive trying to show off with all these pb time scores or quick shifting to the point some gear boxes just ed up, also this was when cellphones were very popular where every kent left there phones on the dashboard thinkn they were driving a real car trying to show off their cellphones...gangbangers would just run across the aisle and swoop on them and running out the exit...
xmen vs marvel arckade, u see stacks of coins line up on the screen from players lining up to for next turn to challenge whoever was playing...
they u had those chinese import arcade games which were very popular cause u can sit there one sitting for 1 credit trying to complete the game, something like 3 kingdoms...
More HM:
Shadowgate (invested heavy hours into this one)
Wrath of the Black Manta
Golgo 13 (amazing game!)
Wizards and Warriors (again heavy hours invested here)
Blades of Steel (best hockey game ever)
Willow (underrated AF RPG)
Bionic Commando
I would buy the out of an SNES mini console, which is more than likely gonna happen with the way people are eating up the mini NES right now.
I don't get the point, you can play every SNES game out there for free on SNES9X and buy USB SNES knockoff controllers.
