HOOKEM 365: This evening Tommy Bush and His parents visited the 40 acres and had only good things to say about the Horns' chances. "Locker room was crazy it's probably one of the nicest that I have seen since visiting schools." The standout WR has already visited Texas recently which has sparked a big momentum swing in his recruitment process in Texas' favor.
Coach Mehringer is the point man on his recruitment and once again proving to be a stand out recruiter on this staff. Excellent work by him to be able to recruit at this high a level with multiple elite recruits. Tommy tells me that Mehringer mainly talks about life with him and I can see that paying off with the Bush's in a big way. When I ask Tommy if he has a list of tops schools he says : "Don't really have a list just schools that are very much in contact with my mom's and pops and are continuing to get to know each other Texas is a great school and the fact that we went to speak today shows our level of interest but we are also looking for my parents and me to be totally comfortable with the coaches this way I can be 100%committed and not be flip flopping around"
He tells me that he might visit Baylor and LSU but then wait to focus on the season. I will check in with Tommy in a few days and see when and if those visits will take place.

Update on 2019 ATH Jordan Whittington of Cuero after attending Texas' camp last Friday night (24/7):
“I know a lot about Texas now,” Whittington said. “It’s getting to a point where I’m starting to hear the same things. I like it. I like the coaches and the tradition. I also like the atmosphere and the network.”
“It was great,” Whittington said of his latest visit. “I saw some things I haven't seen before. I loved seeing the coaches again.”
“Texas reminds me a lot of where I play right now at Cuero,” Whittington said. “I love the tradition and the network. Coach (Tom) Herman is a cool guy. I believe in what he is doing.”
Quotes from WR Tommy Bush of Schertz Clemens after his unofficial visit to UT yesterday (24/7):
“The visit was great,” Bush said. “Some of my favorite parts were talking football with Coach (Drew) Mehringer and Coach (Tom) Herman and also checking out that crazy new locker room.”
“Our conversations were very easy,” Bush said. “We spoke about different routes. We spoke about Coach Herman’s house just being finished and Coach Mehringer and his new dog, so it was really relaxing."
“There was not really a pitch. They just told me they are still very interested in me, and I had a place if I wanted.”
“I’m interested a little more,” Bush said. “We are getting to know each other just like a few other schools that communicate with us as a family. We really like that fact they are pretty honest and are trying to blaze a new path at UT.”
For comparison...
Two more in for Bush.
Inside Texas mentioned today that CB Anthony Cook of Houston Lamar is still scheduled to be in Austin this weekend.
Just 9 pro bowlers?
Kinda low considering the history there, tbh
Also from Inside Texas, they're saying don't be surprised if 2019 ATH Jordan Whittington of Cuero commits to Florida soon.
He arrived in Gainesville last night for an unofficial visit and apparently things aren't as clear cut as they were after visiting UT on Friday.
The main issue isn't a love for Florida, but his desire to make a quick decision.
I visited the Florida 24/7 site after reading this and they haven't mentioned him committing.
