Quotes from LB DaShaun White of Richland after his official visit to Texas (24/7):
“The visit was really good," White said. “I felt like I really got a feel for the program and coaches. I really got a good feel for how Coach (Todd) Orlando and Coach (Tom) Herman really are. You have these perceptions of guys from recruiting, but when you interact with them personally around their families, you see a whole different side.”
“Regardless of it not being one of their bigger games of the year, I thought the atmosphere was incredible," he said. "It seemed packed in there. The environment was hype.”
“I got a good feel for the players," he said. "I spoke to them on a real level about the program and coaches. I felt like they were straight up with me. Those guys have all been in the same position as me, so they understand.”
“She (White's mother) liked it a lot," he said. "She’s very fond of the education, and it was good to get in front of people that knew what they were talking about. The education is top tier and it sets you up in so many ways for life after football.”
“It was big because we’re (White and LB Byron Hobbs) pretty close," he said. "We’ve got a lot of people that want to see us play together, so the opportunity that presents itself at Texas is great.”
“Texas is definitely at the top," White said. "There’s no telling where things are going with A&M, and Texas is pretty neck and neck with Oklahoma. If I had to make a decision today, I’m not sure I could.”
Looks like everyone's favorite OC Shawn Watson made it as well.
I had a good laugh on that one.
I remember thinking Pitt went full re when they hired him.
I don't know if you saw the note recently that Ossai didn't think Sumlin would be getting fired.
Maybe he heard some negative things this past weekend.
i think the fact that it is on his mind is telling. i think it suggests doubt at the very least. nothing kills recruiting more than mounting uncertainty, of which there is plenty of in the a&m program.
Per The Football Brainiacs, WR Brennan Eagles of Alief Taylor is now an early enrollee.
Two extra notes on WR Terrace Marshall of Bossier City, LA and more quotes from his father (The Football Brainiacs).
-Marshall will sign with his school of choice on December 22nd.
-Marshall's family plans on moving with him wherever he goes.
“It was just off the charts. I didn’t know what to expect coming into it but it was a A+ visit. They topped Texas A&M and Florida State visits. I mean, Texas A&M, now, they did a good job too but yeah, I’d say Texas was the best visit”.
“Knowing how Herman likes to air it out. They’re bringing in two of the best quarterbacks and Terrace already knows Casey (Thompson). They (the staff) know right now the program isn’t where they want to it be but look at the class they’re bringing. They want to get their guys in there.”
“Baton Rouge can’t compare to Austin. I loved Austin. I’ve got a cousin who stays in Austin. I don’t go out much but if we move to Austin I may have to start going out”.
Huge news in my opinion for his future playing time going into 2018.
Collin is on notice if Texas signs Marshall and Eagles.
He's already been benched once for his lack of aggressive play.
What the
Agreed but not ready to give up on Collin he was too special against USC and the few flashes in between just think it's as Mehringer told him to begin the season bring the physicality and on a consistent basis. I think he puts it together before his time is done.
Hager's a classic! I'm surprised they still let him talk to the media.
Fish on!
Rivals reporting UT just offered 2019 S Kenyatta Watson of Loganville, GA.
He's currently committed to FSU, but he's not expected to stay with them.
