Status: The top shot blocker in the class of 2017, Bamba has game changing length and defensive ability around the rim. He's visited all four of his finalists and most recent rumors suggest that this could be shaping up as a showdown between Kentucky and Texas.

Nothing official yet, but OrangeBloods is hearing UT will participate in a satellite camp in Florida at some point this summer.
OrangeBloods reported how the commitment of LB Byron Hobbs went down last Friday.
Hobbs called Herman at first to tell him he was committing, but Herman decided it'd be a good opportunity to troll Coach Orlando.
"We called coach Orlando about five minutes later. I told coach Orlando 'Thank you for all the time you've spent on me but I'm committing to Oklahoma,'" Hobbs said. "He told me to get off the phone with him and I started laughing. I told him I was kidding and I want to commit to the University of Texas."
This piece of information is from Inside Texas talking about a Longhorn Foundation meeting that took place before spring football.
To keep things in perspective, Clemson's new state-of-the-art facility had a price tag of $55 million.
"Tom Herman was in attendance and politely suggested the new build should be football-centric. He gave appreciation for the other sports but lamented this was a football stadium. This led to an interesting quote from a donor, "for the first time since around 2003 or 2004 the football coach realizes he's the most powerful person in the AD."
Other Herman requests regarding the build and otherwise: in lieu of a few suites he wants coaches' offices overlooking the stadium; two turf fields with the same turf as what's in DKR; a new practice bubble; turning the current locker room into the visitors'; and to repurpose the football living areas of Jester in to more modern, loft-style living.
The main question you'll have is likely the same one I had; how close is the AD to reaching its goal of $100,000,000 for this project? I was told, "I'm not sure, but I do know with a few wins and Herman working the room, money won't be an issue at all. He'll have it with ease."
Texas' average attendance was up last year, even with the $h!t show. Probably has a lot to do with a descent home schedule.

Things are trending nicely in our favor for PF Mo Bamba. Late signing period begins tomorrow and it's down to a Texas V Kentucky battle. Look for this to drag out like Jarrett Allen's decision did last year.
