After the NCAA decided to dip a big toe in just to test the water the Big 12 gingerly follows...
OrangeBloods reporting DE Jarell Cherry (Dallas Carter) and DE Max Wright (Katy Taylor) will be in Austin on the 25th.
Max Wright is a STRONG Aggy lean. If we can at least delay his commitment to Aggy, that'll be a success.
Watch Baylor say "just keep it"
He might like Aggy, but Arkansas will play a major roll in his decision. His sister is a Razorback.
Houston Lamar CB Anthony Cook now a 5 star and #1 player in Texas per 24/7.

I never understood why Texas doesn't have the best facilities in college. I know it's not a money issue. Is it a tradition thing? Kids these days don't care about that anymore.
Arrogance? Lack of organization? Laziness? No creativity or foresight?
Take your pick, imo.
RB Lorenzo Lingard of Orange City, FL has committed to Miami.

Update on QB Casey Thompson of Moore, OK (Rivals):
“The Texas offer was huge,” Thompson said. “I definitely have Texas as a priority now.”
“I began talking to them a lot right after (Herman) took the job, but they didn’t offer me until Tim Beck came in,” Thompson said. “Probably a week after he came in Tim Beck was at my school. I was already close with the Houston staff, so once they took over (in Austin) we went from there.”
“One thing Coach Beck said when he came to see me is he believes I am good enough right now and he’s almost positive with Coach Herman the direction they want to go towards is pass first,” Thompson said. “He thinks they want a passer and a runner, so I would be in the direction they want to go towards and I fit in perfectly."
“I agree with that statement and I think it’s important to know the offense before you go in. So, I am going to visit and kind of see what their plans are. I figure it will be Coach Herman’s offense that he ran at Houston and a little bit of Coach Beck’s pass game, so I’m excited for that.”
“I could go out for their junior day Feb. 25,” Thompson said. “It’s only a five-hour drive and I also have family that just moved to Austin last weekend, so I will be able to stay with them when I go out there.”
“Moving forward, since I am an early graduate and I know these spots are few, I am looking to narrow it down in these next few months,” Thompson said. “I am still kind of waiting to see if any schools are going to come after me hard since the 2017 class just signed, but I look to make a decision probably no later than May.”
“Texas is sitting good,” Thompson said. “Miami has also always been a priority. North Carolina is a priority. Then, Scott Frost at UCF, we talk weekly as well."
“I will get out to North Carolina. I am looking to get out there this month or early next month to catch a basketball game. I am trying to get out to go see Virginia Tech as well whenever I get out to North Carolina because me and Coach (Justin) Fuente are really close. I will go to Miami one more time just because my family has never been to Miami.”
I think there is a lot of reasons that the facilities have fallen behind. 3 years ago we fired and hired 2 coaches, we had our longtime AD retire, #1 priority for AD was the new arena for the basketball team, we fired a second AD, and hired a intrem AD, and finally we fired and hired another coach.
In Short, the Athletic department has been FUBAR since we fired Mack Brown.
Interesting tidbit there. Helps dispel the theory that Herman want's to run the exact same offense he ran in Houston, which has made some here wonder if Buechele would continue to be a good fit. With Ward the offense revolved more around his ability to run and the pass opened up from there. Now it sounds more like he's looking to throw more and take the running opportunities as they come.
OrangeBloods reporting the addition of Bob Shipley to the support staff is official.
