Trump Upsets Media as He Ignores Yet Another One of Their White House Traditions
President Donald Trump left the White House on Friday without holding the traditional end-of-the-year press conference, much to the chagrin of some in the media.
“President Trump's year of flouting presidential traditions and trashing the media isn't quite over yet,” lamented Brian Stelter of CNN.
Stelter reported that “analysts” are speculating that President Trump's aides and attorneys do not want him to make any unscripted appearances in fear of having to answer questions about the Russia investigation.
CNN's Jim ( -eater) Acosta alluded to other questions the president wanted to avoid answering:
“In the seven months since Robert Mueller was appointed special counsel, Trump has had two main types of interactions with the press: Short sessions where journalists shout questions, and kid-glove interviews with supporters on Fox News,” Stelter wrote.
Perhaps there's a reason Trump refuses to give the media what they want. A study by the Media Research Center showed that in just the last three months, 90 percent of the coverage on network evening news broadcasts was negative toward the president's administration.
The summer months of June, July, and August saw the same percentage of negative stories about President Trump.
It was the first time in 15 years that a president will not a hold an end-of-the-year press conference.
“Skipping a formal press conference could be seen as a Trumpian snub of the press corps,” Stelter wrote.
Trump did tweet some of his accomplishments Friday, and he took a shot at the media, whom he feels has not covered them adequately:
“Instead of a presser, Trump signed the GOP tax bill in front of cameras in the Oval Office. He spoke for about 20 minutes, complaining at one point about not getting 'credit' from the media,” Stelter reported.

they can be extended. by senate rules, they can't be permanent as they add to the deficit in 10 years. but they can always be extended when expiration nears
All Trump's accomplishments fit in one tweet.
Adorable little Chris posting propaganda links and thinking that trickle down economics will fix his life. Cute as a button!
All-time classic image imo
Reminds me of the time I asked mavfan1000 why they don't crack down on the people who hire the illegals and he said they were good job creators and the illegals were the problem
The rich slimy white bald guy doesn't look like an actor here.
Neither does that fat POS truck driver hat wearing too.
Ya, he definitely looks legit

They should also be presenting President Xi Jinping of China with a giant novelty size check for the $1.5 trillion the bill is estimated to cost us which will of course be financed with good ole' American debt.
Meh, We've been upping the debt overwhelmingly this entire century. Add to it but citizens actually get some financial relief sounds like a fair trade off.
Well, I certainly hope that people are not investing based on the conversation in this thread. IMO, it is far more difficult for the market to go (more) up when it is high (like it is now) than when it is low (like it was back then). When it is so low, chances (and law of averages) are there's nowhere for it to go but up. Imo, the smart investor should have been buying then when it was low (and converting traditional IRAs into ROTHs - paying the tax (outside of the IRA) when account value is low - I think IRS allowed 2? year conversions) - not buying now when it's high.
Dabom, this is not aimed at you personally - just picking up a quote from the conversation back then. I'm adding another quote from that subject.

Buy low and sell high.
Great advice!
