I wore mandals this last time. It still blows walking barefoot through the detector.

While collecting my things I asked the tsa agent if they regularly mop the floor. She just laughed. It's not right.

They got half my cash wad two years ago. $80 down the drain. I didn't even bother going back and calling 'em on it. I took it like a trouper.

The son of legendary boxer Muhammad Ali was detained for hours by immigration officials earlier this month at a Florida airport, according to a family friend.

Muhammad Ali Jr., 44, and his mother, Khalilah Camacho-Ali, the first wife of Muhammad Ali, were arriving at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport on Feb. 7 after returning from speaking at a Black History Month event in Montego Bay, Jamaica. They were pulled aside while going through customs because of their Arabic-sounding names, according to family friend and lawyer Chris Mancini.

Immigration officials let Camacho-Ali go after she showed them a photo of herself with her ex-husband, but her son did not have such a photo and wasn't as lucky. Mancini said officials held and questioned Ali Jr. for nearly two hours, repeatedly asking him, "Where did you get your name from?" and "Are you Muslim?"
Arbitrary and cruel treatment of good Americans is what roided up immigration enforcement will lead to. , it's already happening.

Won't keep us safe, tramples the rights of citizens and stains the reputation of the USA.

Expedited deportation is a recipe for deporting US citizens with funny names or the wrong skin color, who don't happen to be carrying ID.

Matter of if when, not if the way things are going.

not required as of yesterday morning, at least.

30 seconds added to 100+ passengers exiting is 50 minutes, easily enough to miss your connection.
The whole point of flying is to s out to save time, if you're going to get ed over like that AND pay $500/flight, you might as well just drive.

If I was a terrorist I would want to do something of significance just to see the dramatic despotic overreaction that the Trump administration would have.
If you were a terrorist you'd just block everyone from your liberal blog and call yourself the winner. I suppose most terrorists want to do something insignificant, like blow up a shopping cart on a deserted street.

I have TSA precheck and never get harassed in Canada or anywhere else I travel due to all the clearances I have.

It's amusing to see all these folks who are so easily doxxed online complain about invasion of privacy by LE in airports. You willingly gave all your information to a survey at JC Penny, and you aren't "off the grid" no matter how much you think you are. So shut up and show that ID.

So they're upset for having their IDs scrutinized for 30 seconds?

Meh. What pisses me off at San Antonio Airport is having to take shoes off when going through the metal detector
    Then get pre-screened, tightwad.

Meh, I might do it but I don't really fly enough at the moment for it to be a real nuisance.

Texas A&M was embarrassed and apparently so was CBP: they folded like cheap lawn furniture.

There was nothing patriotic about some dimwit detaining a foreign scholar who already had permission to be here, just because he was born in Egypt.

Discouraging foreigners from coming to the USA has a lot of economic downside and not much public safety upside; foriegn visitors/immigrants barely move the needle on crime in general or terrorism in particular. most perps are native citizens.

agreed, most perps are black US citizens (crime, not terrorism)... should deport 'em back to Africa instead of deporting the egyptians and Iranians

seems very untraditional. putting blacks and Mexicans in prison is the more conventional thing.

...will be telling if Euro-whites with over-stayed visas are not pulled out hospitals, churches, etc, shackled and dumped in a for-profit cattle pens.
