Unfortunately we have no music experts around here.
This is bugging the out of me. It's not my time period for music but lawsuits have been filed for stuff not as obvious.
Huey Lewis and the News played a song called Heart and Soul 1983
This, I found out, was first written and played by Exile: 1981

Now Huey Lewis:

So I got no problem, Huey made what seems to be a more popular remake.
There is a very old song 1938, called Heart and Soul played on the piano by beginners, but it's not the same song.
But then....
My problem is this. There is an experimental type music group called The Penguin Cafe Orchestra that has, what seems to me, the very same part of this tune, but played it in 1976. And someone else noticed it as well in the comment section below.
Have a listen:

Unfortunately we have no music experts around here.
Led Zepplin gets sued multiple times.
But Huey Lewis and the frkn double chin does not do his homework?
This is akin to pee pee The Kidnapper ripping off Blind Lemon Meringue's little ditty, "I'm So Fluffy Fuh Yuh"
Illuminati stuff.
And Lewis doesn't have a double chin. He has a butt chin.
Never cared about the business side of sports or music, yep, boring.
I'm into the athletes/artists and what they accomplished. Contracts and music rights.... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
Elvis first record was a cover of Big Boy Crudups...That's Alright Mama. Yep, Crudup never saw a dime. Elvis covered songs by...
Lonnie Johnson
Big Mama Thornton
Junior Parker
Bill Monroe
early in his career.
You try so hard at this, hahahahaha~~~~
Little man, why fight it lilke ya do, why not learn the music.....ok?
Huey Lewis sued Ray Parker Jr since Ghostbusters was ripped from Lewis' I Want a New Drug. They settled out of court but Lewis got the money.

Well what the then...
Penguin Cafe Orchestra needs to sue somebody to even It up.
Timely thread
U2 sued by a guy for a song that's 20 something years old. Although at first glance, he's got a good story.

Interesting topic though. People being able to claim a series of limited notes and sounds. Not inconceivable that at some point, two different people might organically come up with the same riff or tune.
Being a music expert.....
Ya know who was good but never get any props.....The Guess Who.
The first great Do Wop vocal group.........?

You're an idiot. You find some band you like and color them as unknown or unappreciated. The Guess Who sold a load of records and were inducted into the Canadian R&R Hall of Fame. They don't make the cut for Cleveland. They seem to be appreciated exactly appropriately to what they did. Which was put out some good nut not incredibly influential or groundbreaking music and had a decent run.
Good to see you're finally Googling things, proud of ya. We both know ya don't know about music, so if ya plan on faking it...Google.
I have their Greatest Hits in my Fortress of Solitude. Interesting story.
id like to hear more about the unknown "turtles"
Wow! You have their Greatest Hits? You must be a true fan.
Dude, why waste my time with your immature bull ?
What? No...it's super cool you have the obscure The Guess Who's Greatest Hits. Did you find that rarity in some unknowing widow's estate sale?
I love their cover of Kravitz's American Woman.
I really didn't realize just how many...hits...they really had back in their day. I come across these CD's at a yard sale, a buck a CD. Yep, that was one of them. Since I never listen to anyone for more than a few tunes, so after a few listens, yep....they need more props.
So you didn't know their music until you picked up their Greatest Hits CD. What props do you, as an expert, feel they should have got that they didn't? Forget the fact you weren't aware of them until 20+ years after their heyday. That's Randy Bachman playing guitar BTW. You need me to fill you in on him as well?
I;ll go slow....
I was very much aware of them and everyone else. But, didn't think of them as being anything special at thst time. Was more into the blues tinted sound, Canned Heat, Joe er, Country Joe, etc......ya still with me slugger? The Guess Who were a bit ...mild...for me at that time. I appreciate their sound more now than back when, and I know all the band members ok little guy? Actually there is nothing ya can tell me about them I don't know, ok?
While here.
Little man, it's funny watching you, hahahahaha~~~~~ Ya try so hard, hahahahaha~~~~~~~~~~~~~
