2016 Draft Profile - Jonathan Jeanne
Strengths: Jonathan Jeanne has the potential to be one of the biggest steals of the draft if he chooses to come out this year.

His height and length are obviously the first things that will get noticed, but he is an extremely skilled player for his size. He is a good outside shooter with range to the three-point line, a solid ball handler, and a good passer with decent vision.

Defensively he is a very good shot blocker and alters a number of other shots as well. His rebounding is also improving.

Weaknesses: Jeanne must improve his frame drastically. He is extremely thin and can get bullied around by more physically mature players. He lacks toughness and strength and because of that, tends to prefer to play on the perimeter. It also hurts his ability to rebound the ball consistently.

His post game needs work as does his offensive game in general. While he does have a solid skill set, it still needs to be fleshed out as it is relatively basic.

His defensive potential is off the charts, but he still needs to work on his fundamentals on that end as well. His positioning off the ball needs improvement and he relies too much on his height and length as opposed to stance, angles, and positioning

Scouting report from one game: http://www.draftexpress.com/video/12634/

The mobility, foot speed he shows at his size is pretty insane. I don't see how this guy can possibly not be picked in the first round on potential alone.

The stats on the DX seem to be incorrect. He's definitely not averaging 14 pts and 10 rebs per game.
    Here's his realgm profile: http://basketball.realgm.com/player/.../Summary/54251

Gobert was more productive before he got drafted but he also was one year older than Jeanne. I'm going to keep my eye on this guy.

He just doesn't look like he can stay healthy with that body.

It's interesting that he insists on coming over right away. I wonder if that makes him less appealing for the Spurs.

Doesnt roster expand to 17 this offseason though?

I'd take him for his potential

First round picks are bound to the rookie scale (for the most part) so that change doesn't really affect them. These new two-way contracts are targeted at second round picks or undrafted guys. I would think of it as stateside draft and stash.
I imagine that Lalanne, LJC and Dangubic will get a look for those spots.

NBA mock draft 2017: Markelle Fultz goes No. 1 to Magic in our final fake lottery

    29. San Antonio Spurs — Jonathan Jeanne, C, France

DraftExpress called Jeanne “arguably the biggest winner” at the combine. Here’s more:

Despite being one of the youngest players to compete at the five on five, Jeanne showed a level of craftiness and budding skill that is extremely intriguing considering his youth (19 years old) and physical tools. He measured 7'2 in shoes, with a 7'6 ½ wingspan and 9'5 ½ standing reach that put him in elite company relative to NBA players, and is also highly fluid and mobile on top of that. While still painfully thin at just 207 pounds, Jeanne has added 20 pounds to his frame in the past year, and will undoubtedly continue to fill out in time.

Walter Football: 2017 NBA Mock Draft: Round One - Picks 16-30
Walt, Updated: Thursday, May 18, 2017.

I must note that this is not this Web site's real mock draft. Click here for the real 2017 NBA Mock Draft with some great analysis and breakdowns from David Kay. This is a fake 2017 NBA Mock Draft, or rather my attempt on a lighter version of an NBA mock with some horrible attempts at humor included.
29 San Antonio Spurs: Jonathan Jeanne, C, France, 7-2
Gregg Popovich is losing his mind, if his endless rants are any indication. I can imagine him picking some international player he'll never see again just so he won't have to yell at him.

Is there an organization in the NBA with a better track record of mining and developing international talent?

The Spurs' luck with French bigs hasn't been good thus far.

Nevertheless this guy looks interesting, perhaps like a young Gobert.

Has Jeanne actually withdrawn? I cannot find an announcement of his withdrawal on google. If he hasn't, #59 would be a decent gamble. Isaiah Austin has resumed playing professionally, and I understand the earlier Marfan's is detected, the more effective treatment is (Jeanne is 19).

I agree, gamble on him at 59. Anyone else we'll get won't even play this year so just get someone who we can stash and hope he recovers like Austin. Speaking of austin, is he a free agent? He's worth at least an invite in summer league, he was a lottery pick back then.

I forgot where I read it, but I think the NBA can rule a player ineligible for medical or other reasons, and deny a contract even if signed.

Re: Austin, I've watched him play in the Adriatic, since he plays with Bolden.

He doesn't look like an NBA player to me.

Like has a better chance at being picked this year than in 2018 or 2019
