I would guess that the cost to recover the jersey was probably pretty close to the value of the jersey at auction.

They need some dude at the head of the FBI that has a "who gives a " stamp.

Agent: "hey boss...Tom Brady's jersey was stolen"
    Boss: "who gives a "

Seriously...we're spending money for this ? A ing jersey.

While the 39-year-old quarterback still has all five of his Superbowl rings, the team's owner, Robert Kraft, is lacking one of the heavy, diamond-encrusted mementoes.

Russian President Vladimir Putin walked away with Kraft's ring commemorating the team's 2005 win over the Philadelphia Eagles when the two met later that year. Kraft has said that he intended only to show Putin the ring but the leader kept it. The team's owner subsequently released a statement saying he had given the ring to Putin as a gift, after the White House told him that doing so could improve diplomatic relations, according to local media accounts from the time.

I was actually going to mention something like that. You get your Iphone stolen with all your info and bank accounts etc. But you tell that to the cops and they'll say you should have kept up with it better. Meanwhile, someone steals a shirt from a multi multi millionaire and the feds are on it. And now, they'll give Brady back his $500,000 jersey. And he's just going to pass it down anyway. To his heirs that are already going to be incredible wealthy.

Brady needs to man up and cover that damn FBI bill.

No, the state of Texas does. All Brady did was report a stolen item. He didn't ask for FBI involvement. Texas officials were the ones who wanted whip their 12 inch "Don't Mess With Texas" s out to prove a point, they made a big deal about sending Texas Rangers and national investigators to solve this crime.

Fair enough. But it doesn't invalidate the point that a load of money was wasted because Brady didn't keep up with his ...which was a shirt. But yeah...maybe I'm misplaced blaming Brady.

He stuck his jersey in his bag at his locker. He's busy celebrating with his teammates and doing media interviews. It's not on him that someone went into his locker and took it out of his bag. That's on the locker room security guards.

Tough . People get stuff stolen all the time from bags, lockers, homes, etc. Boo hoo that his illusion of security was violated. If I had a shirt stolen from my locker at the gym, I would never take the time to report it. And if I'd had, I'd have no confidence that anyone would spend any time looking for it.

Neither did Brady. He literally goes "hey my jersey's missing.....well if you see it on ebay let me know" then laughed and never gave another about it. It wasn't until Texas officials got on the news talking their "DON'T MESS WITH TEXAS" bull that the investigation got so out of hand.

That's not the story I heard. I heard he made a pretty big deal about it and was panicked.

Feb. 5, 2017 - Patriots win Super Bowl LI; Brady’s jersey goes missing again

Brady and the Patriots executed a dramatic comeback win over the Atlanta Falcons, taking a Super Bowl to overtime for the first time in NFL history. After the game, Brady discovered that his jersey was missing. He appeared to be “flustered” and immediately enlisted help from team equipment managers and security personnel.

Brady thought his jersey had been taken by someone from his locker. The all-star QB immediately began to panic, looking around frantically and calling in team security and equipment staffers to help him look for his prized possession. “It was right here. I know exactly where I put it,” he said. After several minutes digging through bags, he added, “This is not good. It was right here and now I don’t have it. Not good.”

It should be on him tho. Who would leave a duffle bag full with 500k cash lying unsecured in a locker room?

If he wanted it back, he should have had to pay his own bounty hunters to track it down

    never knew this

Are all illegitimate Presidents beholden to Putin?
Take one ing guess who Donald Trump's favorite sports team and owner is?

As the story goes, Kraft handed the diamond-studded ring to Putin as a bit of show and tell. “I could kill someone with this ring,” Putin reportedly said as he fitted it on his finger. When Kraft held out his hand to get it back, Putin, surrounded by KGB agents, wordlessly slipped the ring into his pocket.
    http://fortune.com/2017/02/06/patrio...ft-putin-ring/

I'm actually not convinced Putin knowingly "stole" the ring. I think so many under the table type gifts are given in Russia that he may have genuinely thought it was a "gift". It would be hysterical if SNL somehow integrated this into one of their skits... I can just see Putin walking onto the set with his shirt off and Kraft's superbowl ring on.

The shirt is worth half a million dollars. It's a national embarrassment to have it stolen right in front of their noses and no doubt the Patriots and the NFL funded private investigation into it.

"unsecured" followed by "in a locker room"

I suppose the Spurs lock up all their belongings before they leave the locker room. No? Oh maybe that's because the locker room is guarded and you have to have credentials to enter.

You've laid some real turds lately.

I suppose the Spurs leave items worth 500k lying around in the locker room. No? Probably because they don't.

I suppose the guarded locker room worked out good for Brady. No? Oh maybe that's because it didn't, not once but twice.

We'll have to agree to disagree on who is laying turds

The jersey didnt cost 500K. He could sell his turd for 1K. Should it be locked up? Why didn't he have police escort to and from game?
