Obviously Kobe is the better offensive player and more cluch. But thats about it. Kawhi is superior to Kobe in every single other category. Defense, rebounding, blocking, defense, team chemistry, leadership, etc, etc, etc

IMO Kawhi is a hybrid between Pippen and Jordan. Kobe a Jordan imitation. A very good one but imitation nontheless.

Ill take Kawhi every day over Kobe. IMO

Kawhi hasn't missed the playoffs in his prime, so gotta go with him for now. Just by default, though.

Kobe was scary when Lakers were down 20. He could be unstoppable on offense. That said Kawhi is a more efficient scorer and a better defender. But you have to get late 30s Kobe out of your head. In his 20s, he was a monster.

too soon, I won't believe that the KingSlayer has hit his peak until his numbers start to decline, whose to say he doesn't have a lot higher to go?

Hard to say as we don't know if kawhi has peaked. Based on his age and ridiculous trajectory thus far, he almost certainly hasn't. Fair or unfair, kawhi won't enter that discussion unless he gets post-duncan rings. I know he was (deservedly) finals mvp in 2014, but that was still timmys team. Iirc throughout the postseason he was the 3rd/4th option

I'll take Kawhi as well. He's more consistent and as of yet no drama. Just when I was starting to think that Kobe was creeping up on MJ he has an atrocious performance in that game 7 vs Boston. If I remember correctly his Orlando Finals wasn't that clutch either. I remember some missed free throws and we're always killing Kawhi for that so we definitely can't let Kobe off the hook.

Kobe was NOT more clutch, why the do you think that?

Kawhi would shut that nigglet down and forcibly take his lunch money.

To those saying he's not there yet, I would say Kawhi has just entered his early prime, but he hasn't peaked yet. But still, he's already better than Kobe ever was.

Take what they did at their same ages.
For this year, sure. But age 20-22 Kawhi was the 3rd option on offense at best, he didn't break 20% USG until his 4th season. Kobe, by contrast, never had a USG% below 24.7 (rookie year) and by age 22 he was in the low 30s (Kawhi this year is 31.1%) for the rest of his career.

I don't think Kawhi has any chance of matching Kobe's career numbers (shocker!), but he has the capability to match Kobe's volume (when the Lakers were good, excluding those 35+% USG Kobe lottery years) and match or exceed Kobe's efficiency. And Kawhi is a better defender than Kobe ever was, so it's quite possible that late 20s Kawhi can be better than Kobe at that age.

People is blind on hate. Kobe is a rapist got, but in his prime was a beast. Also Kawhi hasn't reached his prime yet. We must wait and see.

Why is wveryone so upset at the question?

Its a fair question tbqh. Sure Kawhi might not be at his absolute prime but he is very very close. He matured early thanks to Duncan, Pop and Parker

    And Kobe was damn clutch

But I agree young Kobe was far inferior to Kawhi. In maturirty especially

Can u imagine the tandem of Shaq+Kawhi???

    10 rings minimum

    hahahahahahahha

    hahahahahaha

    wait wait wait wait

a guy who led a team to 2 les and was co-leader for 3 more vs. a player who hasnt led a team past the 2nd round and got shut down by Matt Barnes and Robertson on OKC?? LMFAO

Kobe is the 2nd best player ever and undisputed best of his generation according to most experts that played the game and coached it

Leonard can barely dribble, cant pass, isnt clutch and relies on refs as much as Harden and LeFlop lmao i know posters here hate Kobe because he always killed their team and outplayed Jim in every matchup but this is homer on a different level

Autist isnt even better on defense either lmao

Did you all forgot how many all-defense teams Kobe was on?? And he didnt have the luxury of playing on stacked teams where he could focus on defense

Imagine Kobe in Pops system too hahaha it wouldnt have been fair to the league

Leonards team was better on defense when he was on the bench this season
