The only 3 that have had their information made public all committed assaults.
    Game over Antifa

"On top of that we have already identified over 4000 "members" nationwide (have ignored Europe for now) and have written dossiers on a large amount of the leading members.

instructing the police force not to engage with the people on the spot is very different than having them arrested afterwards.
And how will the police indentify the attackers wearing masks and arrest them afterwards?

But, if you're out there striking people with bike locks, totally warranted, imho.
but what about if they start playing a Colbert video in front of you?

what im saying is if you have folks who are able to ID people (like 4chan has been able to), they should turn that info in to the law enforcement who can act on it, rather than going about it the way they have

you're not going to have your regular police officers get involved in a street brawl. that's a scenario where you would need riot control if you actually wanted intervention. laughing at regular cops for not getting involved is just stupid. and again, their intention of not getting involved was to not further escalate things. that's very different than arresting people after the fact.

oh wait, yeah, the same police.

my point is that they should forward the info directly to them instead of mass online posting of people's sensitive information

They were told to stand down before any attacks took place. It seemed prett clear to me from that video the cops are throwing the mayor under the bus. Had the police been allowed to do their job it would not have escalated to the point we saw

i'm aware that they were told to stand down beforehand. based on how these demonstrations have gone, it might be at the point where they need to have riot police on standby tbh... but i'm not going to think things are going to go well when those cops go in head first when there's already a brawl ensuing.

it would take 2 cops to arrest and take each person to jail. if they arrest 20 people, that's 40 cops busy taking care of arrests and escorts, leaving much less around. at least that was the rationale berkley gave iirc

Don't want to be doxxed don't run like a coward in a mask smashing people in the head with a bike lock.

Had /pol not identified him and put out his information publicly do you think the Berkeley PD would have even investigated? Do you think they would have attempted or been motivated to identify him knowing what the mayor stands for?

Piss poor excuse. Berkeley PD has 170 sworn officers and also brought in officers from Oakland. They knew Antifa was coming to committ acts of violence, it was posted all over the Internet and flyers were distributed naming specific individuals to target. It never had to get to the point it did and the blame falls squarely on the commie sympathizing mayor.

youre bragging about your butt buddies pulling information together about 4000 people, who gives a if they release it publicly or not?

you trust the infowars obsessed gots who are still talking about pizzagate to have a fair standard on who is doxx worthy and who isnt? (wait dont answer that)

if wikileaks reported that the us government was doing this to right wingers you would lose your ing and you know it.

but 4chan is muh heroes for doing it.

    a) i think we can all agree that running around in mask and smashing people is wrong

    b) i think doxxing is wrong. you might think it's an appropriate countermeasure to (a), but i dont. that seems to be where we disagree. i dont think being an asshole to assholes makes anything better

    c) if 4chan people used the internet to find iden ies of people who committed criminal acts, then good on them. they should hand that information over to the law enforcement who can (and apparently did) act accordingly. i dont think spamming it online for the public to see is productive at all. you keep questioning the police's intentions, but they apparently ARE acting on the information

and how many of those 170 should be completely committed to overseeing these demonstrations/rallies? and then do the math and tell me how much police is left for the rest of the city of berkley.

again, if you think berkley should have had riot control ready, that's a different discussion. expecting regular officers to jump into that is foolish

Enough police should be committed so the people trying to exercise their 1st amendment rights are able to.

I have a feeling you'd be singing a different tune on police standing down if those being attacked were sexuals at a pride event in Berkeley.

    a) yes

    b) in this particular case agree to disagree

    c) it's productive in the sense that the next Antifa member will now think twice before doing the same. Berkeley PD's intentions are TBD. Have to see if actual charges are brought first.
