    Yeah probably...

But he's got a unique skill set for a big...
What skillset is that? 29% 3PT shooting? Just because people say you are a shooter, does not speak it into actual existence. He's been poor on offense and really bad on defense.

He will be good. Another floor spacing, young big. Bertans will be traded?
Why do people call him a floor spacer when he shoots 29% from 3PT land?

Yeah in the so well functioning Bulls and OKC offenses....

Cause we watch international basketball too.

I dont understand this signing at all. He's not a good offensive player and not a good defensive player. He's literally just a guy.
    Obvious you don't watch him.

He has a skillset that the sprs badly need with Lee and Dedman gone. He's a legit diveman/rollman.

Pop likes soft big men. Maybe he falls into that category.

I have watched him plenty. People are calling him a stretch big. They are woefully wrong.

He's not a stretch big. He's terrible as a shooter outside the occasional corner three. Teams utilized him as a stretch which is terrible but expected since most teams nowadys are obssessed with spread fours.

If he's going to play stricly as a a big/ roll guy..He's got legit value.

The Pistons are already getting ready to offer him a four year, $40 million deal next summer.

Well Spurs need a big that's cheap, I guess this fills that gap. Oh well!

Spurs have lost a ton of defense this off season with Lee/Dedmon gone. Big concern at this point. Especially since all their guards outside of Danny as of right now (TP, Mills, Forbes, Murray) are all really bad defenders too.

He can put the ball on the floor, pass and hit the occasional 3 or 18' jumper. You make it seem like this is another Joel Anthony signing...

Joff most likely replaces Lee. I like him more than Lee for this offense. He can shoot, rebound, pass, drive the ball well for his size. Defense can't be worse than Lee's. For the minimum I think it's a low risk high reward signing.

Noone expected this level of D from Lee, TBH. JL will likely improve too.

True. Everyone on the Lee signing at first because of his defense, and the hate even continued on into the season. Now, his defense was apparently a major factor for the Spurs. Let's wait and see how JL performs. He might surprise us just like Lee.

Lee did grest for us. Offensive rebounds is vital as well. Plus he has some of the best hands and passing for a big. This is a downgrade. Regardless of age gap.

Solid signing. 2 yrs ago he avg 1.1ppp as a roll man for 2.1ppg. This year he go .96ppp. Yes, he will be used going toward the rim and finding spaces around the rim as well. He had very solid % mid range 2 years ago. He's capable dribbler which the team needs every little bit it can get. Just a nice offensive piece.

Joffrey is a decent offensive rebounder. Crashes the glass hard. Not as good a david lee but not a huge drop off. He isn't bonner or diaw.

Well, if we are comparing him with Lee, then perhaps it isn't that bad.

Runs the court in transition very well, find gaps in the defense to make cuts, can dribble, etc. All can be seen at the beginning of this video. Might also have that floater in the paint that Timmy was using so well his last year.
