BP3?
Spurs going for three point shooters big time
Yeah, but I don't think he's locking down a contract anymore than Paul is. I was just pointing out that SA doesn't really have too many guards. They use the last spot on a big, and they're fine.
Guard influx aside, I'm okay with this. Spurs were woefully short of shooters to surround Kawhi with last year.
When Pau and Aldridge are two of the most reliable three point shooters you have, something is wrong.
Paul 6' 10 3/4 wingspan.

i think this means one of Manu or Simmons won't be back.
incoming Manu decision... or maybe the Spurs have had enough with Simmons and his contract talks.
I think it is calculated to at least put some pressure on Simmons.
not sure if it's just a training camp deal though. in which case I would feel silly
I don't mind the number of PGs. The Spurs are trying to solve a problem, and one of the keys to doing that is to not assume you have a solution. It reminds me of the wing search from 2009-2012. Took them forever to find Green and then Leonard to fill those spots. If Paul outplays Murray and the others, then that is fine. Better than appointing Dejounte without compe ion.
maybe they have seen enough of someone they think they need to go to Austin for a year and hope paul is ok
I wouldn't be surprised if it is a camp deal. The only issue is that there's a new rule preventing teams from guaranteeing more than $50k to guys they want to play primarily for their d-league teams. That includes affiliate and two-way guys. So if the Spurs give him more than that (and he's probably warranted more), then it would signify they truly believe he could be on their roster.
wow he looks good
Is he a point or a shooting guard?
exactly. and if i'm murray, i think i would definitely read into this.
Yeah he has a good looking game, I'm actually excited about him being on the roster. It seems like he can score from all over the court.
he's definitely a better shooter than Simmons, quicker release and better form. I like that he plays in the pick and roll too. Simmons would play the pick for a drive or a pull up midrange, this guy looks more versatile. He could stretch it to the three.
no doubt. He may not have Simmons athleticism and I still don't know how he defensively but he looks better offensively for sure. More polished.
simmons renounced
He's a fukin scrub. ST where everyone is an MVP until they play their first game and need to be cut

Sources: The San Antonio Spurs have renounced guard Jonathon Simmons, making him an unrestricted free agent.
Wanted too much money and they found a better deal. Bye Simms
I don't know his game. Think he's a combo-guard though.
This likely means he has a deal but that team was afraid to give him an offer sheet. We've seen it with Neal and Cory recently.
