The League and the Union looked to increase the compe iveness of the AS Game. That won't cut it. Even if the Captains select their teammates, can't see how such a move will make players take it more seriously and not become the same crap-fest of the past years.
Tbh i think it's more because the East is such trash that they had to do this to avoid a 198-140 blowout in an even more boring game than last seasons fest. Still gonna suck either way though

The whole "Captain picking squads" seems to me a sad attempt at creating drama (who will be slighted, who will be picked first, etc) for a meaningless game. If Silver, wanted to increase the drama in the league, than ditch that lousy award show in July and get back to giving out MVP, etc during the playoffs. That was always fun to see how the newly anointed MVP would fare against other MVP contenders who felt slighted (same with DPOY to a lesser degree).
I definitely agree w/ you. But even that won't make the game more compe ive. I lol'd because after all the they talked about giving "a well thought out solution" for this and future ASG and just agreed on some lateral move

Swanigan is better than Collins and just much better value for where he was selected. Better rebounder, better defender, better shooter, hustles more, etc.
