Waste of my phone data to even have the YouTube image load (not dumb enough to click into video)
So there is no player option in that contract for Brandon Paul?
Yes 17 spots but two way players can only play in up to 45 games and are not eligible for the postseason unless they are offered a regular nba contract.
Dang, that's great value for someone who could see minutes with our glut of youth at the position. He could easily outperform that deal...
Doesn't look to be that way. Spurs finally learning from all the dumb player option deals for unproven guys who could blow up?
Text me when you get this. Lost my contact info and mom wont answer her phone. Been at the Rio last two nights sweatin my boy in the Main Event. Was trying to hit you up cause he was on feature table on ESPN2 last night for a couple hours. Doing really solid w/ 297 players left going into Day 5.
Rondo to the Pelicans
Shams Charania @ShamsCharania
29s
Free agent Rajon Rondo has reached agreement on a one-year deal with the New Orleans Pelicans, league sources tell The Vertical.
Is Muscala still available?
Edit: Nevermind. Still with the Hawks.
Hope you are right. We need his leadership with all the young guys.
That's a pretty good fit. There's a chance now Cousins and Davis might actually be good together.
So Holiday playing at the 2?
Rondo and Cousins were big buddies in Sacramento.
I would rather have Mills than Rondo or Rose IMO.
But man, Pau is a really patient dude. Obviously him and SA have a deal worked out because there is basically no FA money left for him outside of SA . But I'm sure he would probably rather have his deal locked up but I guess the Manu news is really holding this up because SA has an apron to be concerned about.
Yes Pau has been very patient, but surely an agreement has been reached...or you're right, he'd be in trouble!
Well, monetarily speaking, it'd be a good year for him to come back... there's definitely extra space for him now.
Imo if Gino comes back and with Pau return, we would probably cut a player in order to have another big. I don't think we can go with Pau, Lamarcus and Lauvergne as real bigs.
That will be more simple if Gino retires.
So add Pau to this and you have the active roster until Jan/Feb when Tp returns barring any trades. That leaves room for TP being DNP - Injured and one other player to be signed as well (maybe Manu but who knows, I think they may go big if Manu retires)
I wouldn't mind if the Spurs took a flyer on Mickey, go young and take some risks.
I was a little freaked at reading comments about how the Spurs should just cut Pau loose now, and sign someone else. After getting him to opt out, and promising him a re-structured deal, there is zero chance that the Spurs will fail to make him whole. I know the "Spurs Way" is , and nobody wants to come play here. But I guess it's enough to convince a guy to take a $16M IOU.
Exactly. Plenty of guys would love (and do love) to play for SA. But ya, SA can't cut ties with Pau now. Not this late in FA when he opted out and it appears it was a handshake deal.
If Pau did that on his own, maybe, but the fact he's not even appearing to take any FA meetings when he would be sought after (especially with his 3PT explosion) shows it was between him and SA
Sure don't see screwing Pau as the "Spurs Way."
Shirley you jest. The Spurs already took a flyer on Lauvergne.
I am not sure if Kyle Anderson will continue with the team.
I really see no minutes for him now with a player like Rudy Gay that will end up eating 30-35 minutes a game.
Check this.
Patty 32
Dejounte and White combined 16
Green 30
Brandon Paul 10
Kawhi 35
Gay 30
Lma 32
Bertans 10
Lauvergne 10
Gasol 15
That's 20 min left for 3 players plus Tony coming back, and the sf spot is the loadest of them all with Kawhi and Gay.
