'300' remains effective. Meticulously prepared & executed. The repe ion of concepts & lines is stunning.
Rocky 4 if he's fighting Drago when I turn it on. Same with Bloodsport if Frank Dux is fighting Chun Li.

i watched a short live movie yesterday.
the one about how she won't even hold the presidents hand.
10 Things I Hate About You
Clifford The Big Red Dog
i saw another short movie today, and again she won't hold his hand.
He's a puss though, &. Just because he's hustled by what's his name he gets all sensitive & hurt. He's a completely different persona than Felson/60. It doesn't add up, doesn't jibe, doesn't hold water. He's taken nothing from '60 to this story. He stood for something then. Now, he's piss pot.
Dux? Like put up your dukes?
"Public Enemies" --- They show it a lot on the Universal channel and it's not too cut up. The beginning of this film is where the quality is. Sags a bit thereafter but the first 20 minutes is measured & brutal. Dillinger escapes an Indiana Penitentiary---then immediately were shoved to "Pretty Boy" Floyd in maniacal flight from Melvin Purvis who dispatches him with set triggers from a high powered rifle at distance. An early & unrecognized Channing Tatum/thin plays Floyd and does this [cameo] well as he dies in the grass cursing Purvis. The Purvis character takes no pleasure,,,he's just following strict orders laid down by J. Edgar Hoover to eradicate these public enemies from the nation. Play this first 20 minutes loud & it's a thorough treat.
Major League
Christmas Vacation
You're thinking of Pubic Enemas.
Yep, it's got those yuppy next door neighbors that fortify this film. They're bright & new-injected into a worn franchise. Dreyfus is near beautiful and they "painted" her with such knowledge. They knew what they had there.
The film has a (sincere) bent to it as if the production were about this business. Clark & Ellen have finally slowed down and we catch the full look of their characters. This one,,,it sort of haunts you at certain memories. The grandparents are great choices, stalwarts in Hollywood. And they ain't there to collect a paycheck. They put it down on celluloid there so it's for the ages, like the parents/grandparents in [Sixteen Candles]. They knew so we'd remember.
Film. American film.
That wolf picture? That's a dog, SfS. Though I watch it every time I'm crusin' thru. They'd a never left the plane. Like in "30 Days of Night" they'd a never left that attic.
They damn sure wouldn't have jumped off that cliff into a tree top like that. Gave the wolves too much airtime tbh, made them too evil, to intelligent and intentionally antagonistic.

How 'bout "Teeth"?
That damn "Seed Of Chucky." It's outrageous, but, I watch it every time. When they take their child's underwear down to see if he's a girl or a boy it's a gd riot. "He's a boy, he just hasn't had his growth spurt yet." - "Chucky"
Tombstone - Probably for the lines in it.
Untouchables - I liked the give and take from Kevin and De Niro. I can watch that one pretty much over and over, though I don't like watching movies repeatedly.
Halloween - Used to freak me out as a child so I'd say that one.
It's a might pious, & has a TV feel to it at times, but, the main music theme is grand materiel.
& the main booger is Frank Nitti did not die like that. Why, why did they do that?
Probably to entice dramatics. I know its historically inaccurate, but Hollywood.
But, it's so inaccurate that it's embarrassing.
& that actor (Billy Drago) & his work there was excellent. It's just wasted to a large extent by the production.
Agreed. I was pretty knowledgeable about the mafia as a teen and when that movie dropped I was like man, they added that nonsense in...
true believer
the sure thing
I've tried that a number of times and it just never works for me.
