When I was kid I remember The Sandlot and Lightning Jack being on HBO almost everyday in '93 or 94 iirc...my brother and I probably watched those no less than 30 times
I always use to watch Escape From Alcatraz, Quigley Down Under, Vacation, any Clint Eastwood spaghetti western, and The Naked Gun whenever they were on

Shawshank is the first choice. Since it's broken down into several smaller stories, it's easy to pick it up from whatever point. Plus the fact that it's on about 20 times a year.
Some others that come to mind...Training Day and Man on Fire.
and Training Day makes me thing of Gattica which I'll always tune in to.

I will be watching it every time it comes on.
I haven't seen the second one. I rarely go to the movies but I actually went and saw John Wick by myself. It was awesome. I regret not seeing the second one at the theater.I will be watching it every time it comes on.

Most foreign movies are usually a notch above whatever Hollywood puts out.

Fight Club came to mind as soon as I saw the thread. Good call by DD on the Eastwood westerns...I'd add Gran Torino to that list too. Road Warrior and any of the first three Indiana Jones movies as well...and anything Bruce Campbell.
And Deadpool, of course.
There are some movies like those Marvel superhero ones where ya really do need the theater experience to get what is being sold. I don't care what kind of home system you have it can't match the theater.
You need to get out more, recluse. For years now there has been high end audio/video that you can put in your house that will blow the doors off any public movie theater on the planet.
