Watson looks great.
McCaff is a beast
No Cam Newton or Curtis Samuels tonight, but KB and McCaff are looking good. Savage looking pretty timid so far.
Watson needs some polish, but he looked good overall. He looked poised and shook off mistakes and made plays after that. He's running against 3rd stringers so I'm not ready to anoint him just yet. Timing and accuracy are still issues. I'd be happy with him being a slightly better version of Russell Wilson.
I still want Savage to start for now. Watson needs time to develop. The potential is there though.
Tom Savage will be on the bench by turkeyday if he lasts that long. Watson simply has.....IT.
Watson looks to be the real deal. Savage is going to have to play lights out to keep that starting slot.
Slowwwwww dowwwwwwnnnnnn, rookie~~~~~~
let's not get ahead of ourselves now
FINALLY......figured out football, took ya long enought, yep, you're right.
Struggle Wilson
They said that last year about the other team in Texas last august, iirc. Until the inferior, white, pocket statue, veteran got injured.
Savage starting all year will net you a top 3 pick though.
One preseason game against scrubs...
You wrote the kid off on draft day just because he's black...stop it.
For good reason.
I said he played well. What the else do you want?
He stands flat footed in the pocket. He locks in on his first read. He's overthrowing receivers. He needs reps and time. He would get a harsh reality if he started right now. I'll gladly eat crow if he does develop, but right now he needs to get acclimated to the game at the pro level.
Trubisky with a nice drive for the Bears resulting in a TD at the end of the first half.
Would you have preferred he sucked vs 2nd and 3rd stringers just to prove a point?
To me he passed the eye test vs scrubs, let him start next game vs/with starters to see how he holds up. I know TS is yo boy and you want him to do well but he's just another guy...a placeholder.
He didn't come close to passing the eye test. If he would have come out and dominated a bunch of players that likely will on practice squads I'd see a reason to start him the next game and see what he can do against real NFL players.
None of this matters tbh. Savage will start the opener and will be the guy until he fails or gets hurt. Looking at the schedule, I would think Watson fanboi's would prefer this. Savage takes the fall and Watson gets to come in as the schedule gets easier.
Savage won't end the season as the Texans QB.
Mobile QB's extend plays, put added stress on a defense, that is where the position is heading.
Why would any coach question calls and hassle officials in a meaningless game? I'd do nothing to slow it down.
Slowwwwwww dowwwwnnnnn......rookie.....hahahahaha!~~~~~~
