Which of you nerds have glasses? They were sold out everywhere I looked on Saturday. It should be interesting.
I just did the pinhole projection trick to see the crescent sun, but the good one is going to be on April 8th, 2024 when the NW side of San Antonio will be in totality.
Glasses...I want to know who took off work to drive to Seattle
We're only supposed to get 70% worth of it so it's pretty worthless.
The eclipse of 2024 will the first one within maybe 300 miles of San Antonio since at least the 1800s. Crazy that it will actually pass directly over the city. It'll hit Austin, Waco, Dallas, Ft Worth, Indianapolis, Cleveland, Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, and Montreal too, and pass nearby St Louis, Chicago, and Detroit. If you drive out to Kerrville or Fredricksburg the totality is supposed to last 4 minutes and 20 seconds.
Someone at work had the glasses. It was pretty neat, even though it was just partial.
Can't wait for the one in 2024....ATX will be in the zone.
You're in NYC right? You'll get a roughly 90-95% eclipse there in 2024, and if you drive to Buffalo or Rochester you'll be in the center of the 100% zone.
That's not what I read. The peak is 70% or there about.
I'm in the city.At 2:44pm, the eclipse will hit its peak in New York. At this point, Gothamites will be able to see about 70 percent of the total eclipse. Sure, New York won't get the full, total darkness that other areas across the country will see, but the sight promises to be pretty incredible regardless. The peak of the eclipse will only last for a few minutes, so it might be a good idea to put your phone down during this stretch.
Sorry, I meant in the 2024 eclipse. We had 65% in San Antonio today, which is mildly interesting seeing a crescent sun and seeing the color of the sky look a little washed out vs normal. But 2024 is going to be the really badass one.
I went downstair to see if I can catch something. Didn't get jack. It got all cloudy and it pretty much blocked out what there was to see.
Melania is such a dumb broad.
Actually they had a picture of idiot Trump staring up at with no glasses too.
We were about at 80% here in Maryland and you couldn't see any difference. One of the guys at the city yard had a welding helmet so I grabbed it and looked through it. It was wild it was pretty much covering the whole sun except for a hair, yet it was still fully light outside.
I'm at Crooked River Ranch in Oregon which is in the path of totality. It was incredible.
It was cloudy here, who do I talk to about setting up a replay?
Was only a tad eclipsed here in the Southern California area, but it was pretty cool nonetheless to see it make it a tad darker for a little bit. For those in TX who get the totality in 2024, that is super cool.
Drove from Colorado to Nebraska to view totality
Awesome
Temp definitely dropped
Would like to hear his answer.
How do animals keep from getting their eyes burned?
You've seen some staring at the sun?
Yes, the 2024 eclipse will be one of the best ever. Almost 5 minutes long near Mexico City, which is the sweet spot. Those in Texas will be awesome.
Eagle Pass, next to Pedras Negras...
What a mess...
Prepare now.
No, I was inside.
But of the billions of animals on planet earth, how did they all know not to look at the sun? Or did they?
