What's up with everyone wearing sleeves?
wtf
That ball was about to get away from Green at the end.
IMO, Kawhi is always very active, he's either cutting or getting on the perimeter for a shot and he's learned to not hold the ball and stand still without having in his mind already what he wants to do. It's possible knowing the system to the point you don't have to think about your actions makes it so natural... the guy is also extremely naturally talented. It helps that teammates now look for him all the time to get him the ball. We recall Pop commanding Tony to pass the ball to Kawhi, etc and by this point it's all about getting Kawhi the ball early etc.
Kawhi doesn't have to go stand somewhere, establish position to then ask the ball. You give him the ball and he knows what he can do depending on where he got it and if he wants to call something he calls it etc. Lamarcus IMO is not sufficiently active off the ball, or at least I will say his level of effort varies from game to game. Sometimes he makes his disappearing acts. He could just be having a bad game or whatever and starts doubting himself, and just passes up shots when he gets the ball in spots or doesn't cut aggressively etc. Playing with guards like Danny and Patty as it happened in the playoffs, who are not playmakers doesn't help him one bit. Once Kawhi went down it was hopeless for him, but his level of activity off the ball and his aggression also left a lot to be desired.
Think he has a decent chance to start in the same way Dedmon did last season and Green did in 2012. I expect Gay to get starters minutes, but especially if Mills starts, the SL needs someone to grease the wheels, and Kyle can do that better than anyone on the team but Manu and Tony.
I don't like the uniforms one bit.
On another note, Pop starting to look more and more like Lord Barristan.
Nicely played, sir. I give you an A for creativity on that one
Contract year!
Time to shine.
Pop is tiresome.
Yea no one knows how to throw an entry pass to him. He kept catching it in bad positions.
you beat me to it
Encouraged by LMA's comments, as well as Pop's. Sheds more light on the "discontent" rumors that swirled all summer, and it sounds like both parties have acknowledged the issue and that there are things each can do to fix it.
Pop even came out and said he hasn't done a very good job of properly utilizing all of LMA's talent on offense, and I imagine adjustments will be made in that regard.
If they could work that out, it would be a huge boost to the team. The Spurs would look a lot more formidable if they could get the Portland version of LMA instead of the one from the past couple years.
