Tom Petty has reportedly been hospitalized and is in critical condition after being found unconscious in his home in Malibu, where he allegedly suffered full cardiac arrest, as TMZ reports. He was hospitalized Sunday; his exact status is unknown. According to TMZ, Petty was placed on life support after arriving at the hospital. The singer-songwriter recently wrapped up a run of tour dates with his band the Heartbreakers in late September, and is scheduled to perform shows in New York City in October. Pitchfork has reached out to reps for Petty for more information.

Big loss. So many good songs. Wasn't a huge fan but pretty much liked everything he put out. I don't think I ever said, "this song sucks" regarding Petty.
I bet he punched a lot of lasagna over the years.

I don't even know that one. Yeah...I could probably go back and find some stuff I didn't like. In fact, that one that was like "take back Eddie Murphy". In fact, I didn't like Freefallin' when it came out. But over time, they've grown on me and I don't change the channel.
But the earliest stuff is still my favorite. Refugee, The Waiting...

He's one of the better songwriters of the era tbh. Not much of a singer or guitarist but his songs still kicked ass
