I thought this had a chance to be very good. Tim Roth is a cop in a small Canadian town and dealing with a big energy company and some biker games and .

Seems like they were going for a Fargo type show. Eccentric villain, some humor mixed in, setting...etc.

I went from not liking it to liking it and then by then end was just "meh". It had some decent plot twists in the middle but really couldn't keep it going.

    Maybe a Cowbird Cheechersnot.

That formula of sorta cool to meh is almost every prime original TV experience, for me, anyways.

Best one was Sneaky Pete, and even that one had its disappointments.

Patriot, Goliath, For ude, Bosch... all solid, but all mostly disappointing considering upside.

That said, I’m someone who argues this a lot, and have even levied it against The Night Of and Season 1 of True Detective where the first 5-6 episodes are incredible, by the close out doesn’t match the build up.

Sometimes shows need a second watch.

    I’m hopeful for Mindhunter.

I’ve got two weekends off. I’m sure I’ll binge MindHunters this one and probably go to a friends ST2 Binge Watch Party next weekend.

Bosch is good because its a simple cop show. And each season is basically its own story. Easy to get into and not a lot of existentialist, anti-hero bull or moral philosophizing which while I like in shows like Breaking Bad or such can get tiresome after a while. He's just a good guy and he fights the bad guys. Honestly would even like a Prime or Netflix original show which tells like one off stories like Columbo or Sherlock (the berbatch one) so if I just have one hour or 90s minutes to kill I can watch a self-contained story with some familiar characters.
