Well that guarantees the Spurs a playoff spot at any rate.

Wow. I did not see this news. A few minutes ago I said the Spurs front court would get wrecked in round 1 if they have to face New Orleans and would probably lose to them.

Wow. Terrible news for New Orleans. How did the injury happen?

Grizzlies GM Chris Wallace announces in email moments ago to MVP season-ticket holders that Mike Conley will require season-ending surgery "to smooth a small bone protrusion" in his left heel. Conley is expected to make a full recovery ahead of training camp.

Just a freak accident. No contact, trying to get a loose ball. He dropped, and couldn't get back up. The game had very little time left too. Really sucks for him and their squad

Wow. Sure looks like he musta injured himself, but he didn't look like he was in pain. The video obviously ended too early to tell. Do you know any more?

Ruptured patella tendon. Another break for GS. Dude was on offense but a legit defensive player and an important part of OKC team chemistry. Sucks for them

It was pretty bad he was carried off the court in a stretcher. Here's a longer video that shows him being carted off.

Agreed he's one of the top perimeter defenders in the league. Huge loss for OKC.

When the patellar tendon is completely torn, the tendon is separated from the kneecap. Without this attachment, you cannot straighten your knee. That sux.

Very scary looking injury. Tbh, I am surprised they sat him on his tail to roll him out. That plus the mention of their stabilizing his left leg makes it seem better than I thought at first.

The first thing that came to my mind was that I never saw him move either leg after he pulled himself off the court. I was afraid he did some damage to his lower vertebrae and nerves. I was fearing paralysis of the guy's legs, tbh. A really hard-nosed defender. Hope it's a leg, and he recovers fully.

That is pretty incredible for a guy who is supposed to be a stout defender in his own right.

few thoughts from this warriors-celtics game

    -kyrie irving is insane
-the refs favor the dubs incredibly
-both these teams would annihilate us in the playoffs, kawhi or not

You're going to give some of these PATFO fellators an aneurysm dropping truth bombs like that.

Irving is awesome. The Celtics need another big star instead depending on these complimentary players if they want to win it all.

And to think a couple of PATFO slurpers this summer were talking about how Killa' Kyrie was a chucking cancer who they didn't want anywhere near the spurs

    Gordon Hayward would help.

A short-handed Spurs team beat this Celtics team pretty easily. If Kyrie doesn’t go off, they’re second round fodder if they were in the west

That said... if Hayward comes back this entire calculus changes this year. He’s the second star they need. That plus Horford being healthy.
